The lid seals the container and the container is a great size
For the price it is not worth the product. I was using it for liquid and when I pour out of the top it leaks all over the place. Even the seal at the top has liquid on it that leaks. Bad design and would not recommend for any kind of liquids. I do like the size and the lid does seals the contents even the liquid in the carafe but it leaks when you take the top off.
