Really well packaged product, nice kit, flaky device. I got this to use as a small and light media centre but found it impossible to set up. I get that you can make nice toys and dabble in projects, but the biggest project of all is to get this awful thing working.First off, the included 'noobie' SD card was useless cos it wouldn't load up, just a square on the screen with pretty colours - the nicest thing next to the box. So I downloaded and installed two images onto separate cards, Raspbian and Ubuntu Mate. Installed Raspbian first, but couldn't get the provided resolutions to work edge-to-edge with my screen. There's a black edge around the screen on first install, you're asked if you want it removed, say yes and the icons are then half-hidden off the screen. Reinstall, keep the black edge, and try and adjust the 'overscreen', as it's called, via config.txt - nope, that doesn't work. Same screen issue with Ubuntu despite more resolutions to play with, but not the 1360x765 one I want. Thought I'd come back to that and fix it in Terminal.Moving on, tried to setup Wi-Fi, but wouldn't connect (on either OS). Advice on Google was to upgrade firmware, but that needs to be done thru the device that won't connect - no firmware available online that can be side-loaded via a usb stick. So, find an Ethernet cable and connect, not a future option really as this device is for when I'm on the road (a lot). Anyway, get the device updated and upgraded, now for Wi-Fi - nope. Spent hours trying command line instructions in Terminal (via Google groups and forums cos this is a common fault). This thing is determined not to connect - or reconnect once I'd 'accidentally' managed a couple of times. I'm starting to hate this device by now. I've setup countless devices, phones and computers - where Wi-Fi has never been a challenge/impossibility. What a shoddy effort this Pi is.Next, I contact the supplier OKDo for advice, Amazon says give them 2 days. That time has elapsed and I've heard nothing. They probably know this is a no-win. So, back it goes to them, I'm done. I really loved the look of this, size and concept brilliant, but it wasn't to be. Maybe I got a faulty device, but I just don't trust it enough to persevere anymore. Given the volume of troubleshooting threads online re the Wi-Fi fault, I'm cutting my losses. I don't think I've ever ordered something that has left me so frustrated with all the time & effort wasted on this toy.1 star for the box.

Ich habe seit einiger Zeit verschiedene Smarthome-Produkte im Einsatz, mich hat dabei immer genervt, dass jeder Hersteller eine eigene App benötigt und wenig untereinander kompatibel ist.Für eine spezielle Anforderung entdeckte ich dann ioBroker. Ich installierte die Software auf meinem alten Raspi 3B mit 1GB RAM. Leider kommt man da schnell an die Grenzen der kleinen Beere und so musste eine andere Lösung her.Aktuell ist das P/L-Verhältnis bei den Raspberrys bei weitem nicht mehr so gut, wie es mal war - aber ein größeres Gerät kam für mich, auch aufgrund des Stromverbrauchs, nicht infrage.Also sah ich mich nach einem möglichst günstigen Pi 4 mit 8GB RAM um und landete schließlich bei diesem Modell.Die Rezension von "Roycol" schreckte zwar etwas ab, aber lag ja nun schon etwas zurück. Also bestellte ich trotzdem und hoffte, nicht dieselben Probleme zu haben.Tatsächlich hatte ich weder Probleme mit der beigelegten SD-Karte, wobei ich diese trotzdem durch eine meiner SD-Karten ersetzt hatte. Auch gab es keine Probleme ins WLAN zu kommen, das in der Rezension genannte Firmwareupdate wurde also wohl inzwischen ab Werk ausgeführt.Eigentlich brauche ich für meinen Anwendungsfall keine GUI, hatte aber die erste Testinstallation (über die beigelegte SD-Karte) das Raspberry Pi OS mit GUI installiert und hatte tatsächlich auch das "Problem", dass das Bildsignal nicht den kompletten Bildschirm ausfüllte. Als ich bei der deshalb erscheinenden Meldung auf dem Button zum automatischen Anpassen geklickt habe, hat aber alles geklappt.Eine Anleitung zum Zusammensetzen der Einzelteile ist nicht beigelegt, dafür aber ein QR-Code zu einer Website mit einer entsprechenden Anleitung. Leider wird darin nicht genau beschrieben welche Schrauben wo genau hin gehören, aber das kann man eigentlich auch leicht selbst feststellen.Einen Negativpunkt habe ich trotzdem: Der beigelegte Lüfter produziert ein sehr nerviges hohes Geräusch, aber den kann man ja sicherlich noch ersetzen.PS: Es handelt sich tatsächlich um die 8GB Variante, auch wenn in der Produktbeschreibung fälschlicherweise von 4GB die Rede ist.
