Great for use with ScanNCut foil kit
I've tried foiling by hand, with, to say the least, mixed results. When I found that Brother had released their ScanNCut foil kit in the US, I got it, fooled around with it a bit, and liked the results. What I didn't like was the cost of the refill products, and the lack of variety. So... I bought this and another set of Deco Foils, thinking I would use them with the ScanNCut foil kit. I have two ScanNCut machines (the original ScanNCut and the new ScanNCut DX), so I was also interested to see if I could get it to work with both machines.Brother is adamant that other-brand foil products should NOT be used with the ScanNCut; I thought, that sounds a little crazy given that, if I otherwise follow all of their instructions, it should be fine. So, off I went to test this. What you do is basically this:(1)Put your cardstock on a low-tack mat. With the glue pen in the foil kit pen holder (there are settings to adjust; I won't go into that here), draw the design using the Glue step of the foil function (on the original ScanNCut) or foil step 1 (on the ScanNCut DX). (BTW - Sakura Quickie Glue pens work beautifully - just make sure you keep the Brother pen so you can compare the Sakura pen glue level to the 1-2-3-4 markings on the Brother pen.)(2) Take the mat out of the machine, but don't move or delete the design on the machine. Let the glue dry. Once is doesn't look wet any more, that's long enough.(3) Layer the foil, color side up, over the glued area, and press lightly to make sure you've got the glued area covered. (If you layer the foil color side down, it will pull the glue off of your cardstock. Ask me how I know.)(4) Layer the plastic "protective sheet" over the foil - a sheet of stencil plastic is just right. Tape it down to keep it in place. Put the mat back in the machine.(5) Remove the glue pen from the pen holder and insert the nubby plastic insert (I forget what they call it - this is the thing that will do the foil rubbing for you) into the bottom of the pen holder. Place the pen holder back in the machine.(6) Now run the machine, using either the Foil step of the foil function (original ScanNCut) or Foil step 2 (ScanNCut DX). I should note here that I got a great result on the ScanNCut DX using the default foil settings. On the original ScanNCut, the default settings weren't great; when I set the foil pressure to 2, the result looked as good as on the DX. You might have to fiddle around a bit to find exactly the right setting.(7) Carefully remove the plastic protective sheet, then carefully peel back the foil.***My results were just as nice using this product as with the original kit products. No need to spend at least 4 times as much to get something pretty.

Really great product! I like the color choices and how the pen is included in this kit. I actually prefer the iCraft brand over the MINC brand since the it applies more clean and evenly and does not wrinkle as much.

Adhesive pen does not work.
I carefully followed the directions, waited 30 seconds to a minute to apply the foil which only adhered to some of the adhesive (see leaf, heart and "Hi" text). Sorry had to return.

Great Foil!
I added the deco foil to an alcohol ink painting to use on a card front. I randomly painted the glue, waited for it to get tacky and added the silver foil. Turned out beautifully.
