From Novice to Expert: Excellence and Power in Clinical Nursing Practice, Commemorative Edition

This "little" book was too expensive as new or used book for it's expected purpose. It was not helpful to me for the class it was required for. Might be more suitable for those nurses new to nursing as a reference book.

Condition of book was as described! Very thin & small book. Happy with purchase.

Good book, but it really just states the obvious. It lists the skills that expert nurses possess.

Classic book on pedagogy for nursing educators

I got my booktoday. It is in great condition. I am looking forward to reading it. Thank you very much.

The beginning is a bit dry, however once you get past that it is really interesting. I am about half way through the book and it has been a great read. I am currently reading the book for a nursing class however plan to reread the book after the class is over.

The concept of novice to expert is applicable to today's nursing practice for both the bedside nurse and the nurse manager. I was able to apply this concept to a mentoring program for both new and experienced nurse managers.

Professor Benner, wrote this book in the 1980s, since when it has been recommended for Nursing Students throughout the world. I trained and Nursed in the UK for almost 20 years, I always recommended this as a good read to my Students, to help them understand their learning process. I gained a Batchelors level certificate in preceptorship, whilst still in the UK, the basis of which was this very book. I now work at UCSF, in California, the very place where Professor Benner worked and tutored and yet they seem unaware of just how important Professor Benner is to the international nursing profession, I still recommend that the students use the book. My daughter has just started her paediatric training and I bought from "Novice to Expert", for her to read as she goes through her training.

What ever you are doing ,Benner always has a place, you can relate Benner to all lifes experiences,a vital reference for everyone not only Nurses. Invauable. I was lucky to get mine sighned by Benner herself.

Beautiful book but damaged in three of the corners front of book.

Not as good as I was expecting it to be, did not think it was worth the money.

contains a lot of information about real people in real situations. Very easy to read, quite enjoyable despite the clinical subject.
