Great Laptop
We upgraded laptops from two dinosaurs. I had several must haves on my new computer list: a large monitor, a “real” feeling keyboard, lots of memory, and quick start up. This fits the bill. The start up takes 15 seconds. The keys are nicely spaced apart for quick typing.Setup for the computer went very smoothly.I uninstalled the Windows 10 S. I had read that it basically makes the computer an expensive Chromebook. I have multiple apps outside of Microsoft that I wanted to download (including Zoom) and you can’t use those unless the S version is uninstalled. You also can’t run the computer to its full Windows 10 capacity unless it’s uninstalled. FYI: once you uninstall it, the decision is permanent; you cannot reinstall it.The con:1. It’s hard to get rid of OneDrive, which I hate. I do not want a computer that requires Internet connection every time I open a document. I uninstalled it from the computer and followed Microsoft’s instructions to disable it and it still pops up as the primary method to save documents and programs like Quicken. You have to be sure you save it to your PC if you want them redirected elsewhere. It took a long time to sort all of that out.All said and done, this came recommended by my tech savvy brother-in-law, it’s perfect for our needs, and the price is very reasonable. I give it a 4 1/2 because of the hassle with OneDrive.

My wife likes her faster laptop.
My wife likes her faster laptop. I had no problems connecting to the WiFi and later updating the new HP laptop with any updates required from Microsoft. I started up the new laptop with Windows 10 since that's what my wife is used to using. I may change to Windows 11 after I test that operating system on another computer. As info, when I went to install another browser we like to use, the Windows 10 would not let me because it was in Windows 10 S-Mode. Since we have a lot of software that is not like today's typical apps like you see on a tablet, I removed the S-Mode option, and installed all the software my wife likes and is currently using. I have to say, my wife is really impressed with this laptop.

Did not function- WiFi adapt not detected
Straight out of the box brand new was unable to detect WiFi connections. I know the problem was not the WiFi signal as my phone and my other computer were connected without an issue. My software engineer husband who is a computer expert spent 2 hours troubleshooting the computer set up and couldn’t fix it. This was a 70th bday gift for my dad and I had to take it back from him to return it. Pretty embarrassing and worse than expected for $825.

Just over a month and the mousepad stopped working
35 days and the mousepad stopped working. I don't believe this laptop has any sort of warranty because they opened it up to add the SSD (which I believe is what probably broke the mousepad in the first place). I'm just outside of the return window and will have to find a repair shop and pay out of my own pocket to fix a brand new laptop. Disappointed
