Decent for the price
For my intended purpose, this backrest and luggage rack works just fine. The quality is far less than Suzuki OEM, but so is the price. It fits adequately well and is plenty sturdy for attaching some luggage for a weekend ride. As others have stated, the hardware that comes with the kit is mostly junk. Do yourself a favor and go to the nearest hardware store and buy some 1/4-20 x 1" stainless button head Allen bolts and matching nylock nuts and trash the stuff that is sent in the kit. The bolts that it comes with are too long (around 1.25 to 1.5") and stuck out unecessarily towards the rear seat. They also seem to be very soft metal.

Just get it.
So a couple of things. I have not had this installed long so the periodic complaints I see with easy rust etc I cannot attest to. Here's what I can say... I installed it on a C50 that's a 2013. Mine already had the saddle bags and long bolts installed that are started as needed for this. My take is that regular length bolts would have worked fine. I had one hell of a time getting the long bolts loose to do this install but that should not reflect badly on this product, that's my bike. There are no instructions but it's kind of obvious how it's done. Main brackets pivot inward, that's how you figure which side it's which. If you already have spacers because of the saddle bag brackets, well, I put this inside of those spacers and the fit seems perfect. The main 3 parts are held together at four points with 4 bolts provided. I assembled and attached everything loosely until all parts, aside from the back pad, were together. I tightened the back rest to the cargo shelf to the main brackets first. Then the tightened the main brackets to the bike. Then installed the pad. I really think some Lok Tite on the four bolts would be a smart move and I will do that. With that, I can't see much wrong for the price. No complaints.

Sturdy little rack for a great price!
This product works great with my 2005 C50 Suzuki Boulevard. I had a sissy bar on the bike already, and the holes for the rack didn't line up, so I had to replace the whole set-up. No biggie, the sissy bar and rack were fairly easy to install. I used the hardware from the old sissy bar since several reviews suggested the hardware that came with the kit wasn't heavy duty enough. I would suggest that the method of attaching the sissy bar back pad with the screws seems a bit cheap. With the set up installed I can grab the rack and shake the whole bike by it; it isn't coming off. Just finished a 5-day motorcycle trip with my tent, etc. strapped to it, no problems. Very sturdy and at a great price. My only complaint is that the rack is kind of small, but I knew the dimensions when I purchased it.

Great for the Price
Fit fine on 2001 Suzuki Intruder Volusia VL800. Did no have any trouble with bolt sizes although my bike has saddle bag brackets that I think already have longer bolts anyway so that may be why. Great deal for the price. Feels sturdier than I expected. Installation was easy enough although I had some bolt alignment issues that had nothing to do with this part. No instructions but it was fairly obvious. The pad could be slightly larger for comfort. The bolts that attach the uprights to the main bracket pieces are a little long and interfere when installing or removing the passenger seat but the seat clears the bolts when it is installed so just have to be a bit careful going in/out with that seat. Luckily I don't remove that seat all that often.

Fit my 2017 Suzuki C50---with touring bags and an after market seat
Better quality than expected. Fit my 2017 Suzuki C50---with touring bags and an after market seat, but took some work to get it on. Heavy, strong steel, had to use a car jack to flex the luggage rack about 1/8” to fit. It had more to do with the touring bag hardware and wide passenger seat. I did NOT have to drill any new holes. Not a ding against the product--- my bike year was not listed as compatible. Pretty sure it would have been easier (and fit) if my passenger seat was OEM. I also went to ACE and bought new bolts/nuts, but I do not think you need to. I tried cutting a bolt and it did not work out.I ended up putting the luggage rack mounting bolts in backwards--- thread side out, and used a stainless locking nut on the outside. This prevented the bolt thread digging into my seat—like others reported. Looks fine, and no exposed thread.Overall---very happy. Can’t beat the price and good quality. I think I would have had similar struggles if I bought OEM.
