The Bet: A Bully Romance (The North Woods University Series, Book 1)

The story has bits that are sweet and others that are possibly triggering. I can see the dark elements but in other parts are a bit well just missing. How does her dad and brother die? I suppose it isn't the key to the story but surely if your best friend and the brother of your girlfriend dies you' d ask what happened that both died together. Then there is the kinda strange way her mom essentially abandons her and his family sorta adopts her but she is allowed to sleep with her boy best friend in his bed at his house. I guess it works but I can't really see his dad just letting it happen... I guess if I ignore the bits that are strange the story is a good one. I was just a tiny bit disappointed when she clearly seemed to like the rough way he was with her when he was still angry, but he then is more sweet after she clearly had indicated she liked him being a bit dirty and rough.... But I think this maybe a younger crowds story so maybe the bdsm scene might be a bit too intense.

As soon as I read the blurb I wanted to read this bookThis is Remmy & Jules's story, and it's a tense one!!Something happened a few years back that meant Jules had to move away, well Remmy held that against her and when she suddenly reappears at college he vows to make her suffer, he wants her to feel his pain and he's determined to make it happen!!...And it seems like he's the typical frat boy king who gets whatever he wants, whenever he wants and whoever he wants, and I'll admit - I didn't like him at the start!!!That all changes (off course!) and there's no denying there's a chemistry between these two, they have a connection, but someone is out to destroy them and all hell breaks loose ...It made me smile, it made me angry and it made me hot 😉 and I'm intrigued to find out more about Remmys brothers!!!

I am yet to read a book by these two that I don’t adore - without a shadow of a doubt my favourite dark romance authors, and that just further continues with this book! Whilst fairly lighter than the crime family books, this still sent me on an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. I became so attached to both Jules and Remmy, that at times I felt genuinely disappointed in Remmy’s actions, like one would with a family member or friend! It had me smiling, crying, feeling all warm inside.. name an emotion and there was probably some variant of it felt whilst I was reading this. Like with any of their books, I would definitely recommend!I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'll be honest the main guy is a male appendage. He's awful, not likeable at all. His best friend reeters his life and he decides he hates her for leaving to live with her father.She's just trying to make something of herself and is so happy to be reunited with her childhood friend only this is met with disdain and hate.Definitely a page turner with good characters and dialogue, nice easy plot to follow, however the male lead assaults his childhood friend, I didn't like him and the female lead hasn't seen him in years and doesn't see what he does as assault?If I met a childhood friend and he did that I would be calling the police and having him arrested.It was difficult to get on his side or hers thereafter.It was well written just frustrating because it's all there just didn't like the male character.She should have gone out with the older brother who was nice.

POV:DUALI did get emotional reading this.Remmy and Jules were childhood best friends.Until Jules leaves town with her Father, when her parents split up.Returning years later after losing her Father and brother. She's happy when she comes face to face with her first/only love Remmy.Remmy hates Jules for leaving him.So when an opportunity comes around for Remmy to get back at Jules, he takes it.So Jules thinks that if he hates her, she'll hate him too.Stir in some drama, twists and turns, you have a really good read.

Jules (the MFC) is back in her hometown and starting at a new university. When the last person she expects to see there is her old friend Remington except the reunion isnt what she expected. Hes changed. Gone is the warm, funny guy she used to know and in his place is a cold, unfeeling stranger. One who is particularly unkind to her and tells her how much he hates her. She has no idea why? What starts out as a plot by Remington to get rid of Jules turns into an unsavoury bet that may just sever any friendship or feelings they ever had for each other. This is a story of hurt, trust lost as well as friendship and love. I loved both characters even if at times throughout the book i wanted to smack Remington for some of what he did to Jules. Overall its a great story and i loved reading it

Was a fairly good book ,a bit predictable but still a good read ,strong characters and a good ending ,always like a epilogue

Absolutely loved reading this book. First time reading a book by these authors and I will definitely be reading more.
