Sitting In My Box

This wonderful book has been around for at least 25 years. My now 25 yr old son and 22 yr old daughter loved it. I recently purchased it again for a new toddler one year old, and when my daughter saw it she said I loved that book. She even remembered the words. Toddler is now sitting on his own box surrounded by his favorite stuffed toys.

I am following Pinterest now, and getting a lot of ideas to use in my preschool classroom. I saw a teacher use this book and big plastic animals and a box to tell the story. I read the book first with my class, and they loved it. Then the second day we did a activity where the children used animal stickers and sticks and created their own paper box on a piece of construction paper. They all loved the book, and soon they each had created their version of the story using stickers and a paper pocket on construction paper, and were using craft sticks with the stickers on them representing the characters in the book, telling the story to each other. The book created good discussion and proud moments as they each could tell the story themselves using their story boards.

I read this to my six-year-old and four-year-old grandsons. We all laughed at how silly it was for all of these animals to try to fit in a box and talked about the different animals as they got in and out of the box.I have this loaded on my 7" Kindle Fire HD. One of the best things for me is that the boys want to be on my lap so they can see the pictures. This book is a keeper and has been requested multiple times by both boys.

My grandtwins (girl and boy) are 2 1/2. They love for Grammy to read to them. This has become one of their most-asked-for books. The story is easy to comprehend and the illustrations are delightful. I sometimes hear my grandson playing with his toys and saying, "Let me in. So we all moved over. Someone has to go! Not me! Not me!" which are lines from the story. This is one I will give as gifts.

Great story about a boy sitting in a box reading a book about animals, imagining them in his box with him. I read it to my grandchildren.

My children loved this story when they were younger. It is often quoted! I bought this copy for a friend’s child who loves to sit in boxes! Cute story. Great for inspiring imagination and we need to instill that in our children.

This book is nothing short of delightful. Preschoolers love it! The pictures, text and storyline are engaging so be prepared to reread it over and over. It can be acted out (what kid doesn't love playing with a box?) and the child can retell the story over and over using a box and plastic animals between story readings--perfect for building pretend play and encouraging use of imagination and language! It has earned a place on my "most liked" list...open the cover and fall in love with a simple story that will appeal to the kid in you.

I have chosent this book to introduce animals to my children at school (2 years old) . I sat insid a big bis and began to tell the story using the book the children love it now a big card box is part of the book corner. The take the book and sit inside the box to read it. Amazing
