I enjoy reading books about the war, so this was excelent. Thank you to the author

For a 1st novel, this was VERY good! I gave it only 4 stars though, b/c while it started out strong, it got "bogged down" in the middle and kind of "fizzled" at the end. I think the author has "the right stuff" though to turn out excellent books and I look forward to seeing more by her!

Early into the story I developed a disquieting sense of dread. That stayed with me throughout the book and the plot trajectory. The character development was very good, especially Clara, the principle character. Her single-minded pursuit of her objective evinces her wartime career which she must keep secret in post war Germany.I never gave much thought to the consequences of war on its survivors. This facet of Scott's story was pretty interesting and illuminating. I enjoyed the book, recommend it and look forward to more from the author.Outstanding debut -congratulations!

A different perspective than what we usually read and well done for a first time novelist.

Wonderful book I enjoyed it so much. I will be looking forward to her next book!
