This is a pretty classic pomade. It has high shine and strong hold. I also have “Rough & Ready” and “Frenzy,” which are more matte and give more texture. This is a great finishing product to give your hair tons of shine. It can weigh your hair down and make it look greasy.... so use sparingly! It smells very masculine, unlike the other two products which are more unisex and tropical smelling. I personally love this scent; it smells almost exactly like CREW pomades.It also reactivates with water, so instead of gooping more and more on, try spritzing your hair with water and dampening your fingertips when your hair needs a touch up.This is a great product to have on hand, but I prefer a less shiny finish. I have been slowing switching my hair regiment from gels to pomade and this SexyHair Polished Pomade is making me make that switch even faster. The packaging is nice, but a little confusing. First, unlike other pomades, it has a pop top and not a screw top. It is taking me a little while to get used that. Second, the pomade is actually clear, it comes in a black container that makes it look like black shoe polish, but it is not. It goes on more like a gel than a pomade. It is a thick formula, but it rubs in very easily. There is some stickiness that will be left on your hands and your hair, but a little water takes that stickiness away with ease.The hold is very good and lasts all day. It has a scent, but a pleasant one, mostly neutral with a touch of a masculinity. There was no flaking at all. There is some shine, but not a high gloss one. It is a very good pomade that is priced right in the middle of the market.

No, this pomade is not black. It's clear but it's in a black jar. It does enhance whatever color your hair is, however.Very light unisex scent.I chose this particular version of styling product jars because it claimed to have the highest holding power, which is nine. I would say it holds more like a seven, which is still pretty good hold. It does it without making your hair crunchy. This is like a good old-fashioned pomade that is a bit waxy. But in a good way. And like those old-fashioned pomades, you get a great shine with this.

For the record, I normally have a "mini mini fauxhawk" because my hair has almost no body and shorter is better.HOLD -- I found it to be more of a "6" out of 10 as it didn't allow me to firmly keep the hair on top fixed the way I need it toSHINE -- comes in at an "8" so it's close to accurateSCENT -- sort of a clean smell with a touch of fragrance; it's alright, just not my style as I prefer citrus, lavender or more natural smells like these; this "sniff" isn't offensive thoughPLIABILITY -- I didn't find that I could mold or fix my hair throughout the day; it wasn't too stiff and it definitely wasn't crunchy but adjusting mid-day doesn't work well with this product...in fact it doesn't really work at allTEXTURE -- a touch stiff; a bit greasy/stickyThe main flaw for me is when I applied it to towel dry hair it didn't adhere well enough for me to form the fauxhawk. It created these individual separated spikes with scalp showing between and I wasn't able to press it together for the look I wanted. Since the other do's I opt for is a Semper Fi look and a buzz cut I don't think this product will be terribly useful for my needs.

I decided to try this product on a whim.I’m moving away from traditional big-box store personal care items and trying to move to more boutique brands.I tried this and their other brand and both are basically the same conclusion; I really don’t like this.Yes, the hold is good which is why I rated it a 4.But for my personal preference it’s very slippery/sticky and looks a bit like snot.The scent is good, I do like that. It’s not overly perfumed.Overall, when I use this tub up I will look for other brands.
