Sly Foxy Karambit
This is a large, high quality Italian made karambit folder with a reversible deep pocket carry clip.It is not assisted open, strictly manual action. The karambit is a very old weapon originating in Indonesia. It is yet another example of a farming tool being reinvented as a personal defense weapon. The curved 'hawksbill' blade design was inspired by how the big cats use their claws, and designed to be used in personal defense. The unique blade design lends itself to some very innovative styles of fighting not easily replicated with traditional blades. One such technique called "defang the snake" teaches the philosophy of using the karambit to swiftly poke and slash an opponents arms and legs, rendering him unable to continue fighting, but alive. The 3 inch blade has the word "Karambit" etched in an Arabian looking font on the right side and the Fox Knives logo on the left. There is rugged little flick knob for manual deployment and without a spring assist it will take a good flick of the wrist when using if you want the blade to lock up on the first try. Out of the box the blade is quite sharp, and just a little tight for ease of swift opening. First a drop of oil on each side of the blade at the pivot point; then you can adjust the tightness to your preference by tightening or loosening the torx screw hinge pin. After having this for a few days now I like how the thing just kinda sits in the hand like a well trained English setter. It is both ergonomic and friendly . It has a nice thumb stop on the rear base of the spine which helps when using the "hammer grip"; however it can also potentially snag on clothing or coat, flinging the blade partially open by accident. You might keep that in mind, but I imagine it wouldn't be too bad with a deep pocket carry. This is not a traditional blade, don't treat it like one or you may get an unexpected cut. It is designed for putting either the forefinger or pinky through the ring and using it for secure retention of the blade, which is all about fighting. The unconventional design calls for specific techniques for its efficient, effective use. I think more so than any other knife, the karambit can either incapacitate or kill your opponent with equal ease; depending on which the situation calls for. This is my first knife from Fox Knives, and judging by the quality and craftsmanship, there will be others.Bottom line is Yes I really like this karambit folder, and I think you might as well.Yes, it is a bit expensive: some of the best things are you know....It's worth it.

Great knife
I’ve had this knife for some time now and it’s still my favorite folding knife. It’s sharp as a razor blade and opens real easy with the pocket notch

Not worth the money
I was not very impressed with the quality of the knife in regards to the price, for starters the liner lock is very stiff and hard to disengage, the wave opening feature is not smooth at all and about half of the time doesn't work which is a real problem if you want to use a reverse grip, my last gripe is the use of cheap stainless steel. If I had paid $40 for this knife that would be fine, but for $125 there are many better options.

Very good for price. Liner lock feels a little cheap, but blade and handle feel strong And well made

Very Nice!
It’s a beautiful Karambit. Wave feature works great. Be careful not to accidentally deploy blade when removing from your pocket for the day. The blade came extremely sharp. Blade centering was perfect. The only thing I don’t like is the phosphor bronze bushings. A knife at this price should pivot on bearings.
