I’ve been interested in Vaultek for a while now. But I had a “average” safe with a electric buttons for the combination. But I really wanted to get a nice portable one. Vaultek knocked it out of the park. Besides being incredibly well built and super functional, it’s an absolute work of art visually. It’s gorgeous. For functionality, they thought of everything and executed flawlessly. Biometric finger print entry. Key pad entry. Key entry just in case. But you can lock out the key entry. You can store up to 20 finger prints (includes the 2 admin finger prints). The usability is excellent. So easy to program and use. Inside has multiple configuration options based on your needs including a removable tray and extra foam. Steel cable to secure it. And built tough. If I could design the absolute perfect safe (I’m using them for my guns), I’d not even have come close to how perfect this one is. I can’t recommend it more. Just get it. You will be thrilled and be able to rest assured your gun(s) (or valuable) are safe. I’ll be getting the multi gun Vaultek MX soon. Well done Vaultek, you’ve gained a customer for life.

I travel a few times a year and don’t always keep all my valuables on me. It’s nice to have a secure, portable lockbox for the smaller items I want to leave behind safely at the hotel. This one is ideal for a small firearm as well as a wallet, passports, cash, watches, and similar essentials. You don’t need to exercise your Second Amendment rights to benefit from it—anyone who travels will appreciate the peace of mind. It’s compact enough to slip into a laptop bag yet roomy enough for everything I need, and it comes with a cable so you can secure it to a bed frame or another large, hard-to-move object. I should have bought one years ago, but I’m glad I finally have it.

Love this safe! It normally sits next to my bed with the cable around my bed post so no one can grab and go. I also use this when I travel. Its TSA compliant on SWA and I've flown with it 5 or 6 times in the checked bag. The biometric safe has worked as I expected it to. I've had it for over a year and probably opened it 2 times per week. It also allows me to put more than one finger print in it's memory and you can still use a number code. Its fits my Glock 19, a flashlight and a 30 round Glock mag. So it holds quite a bit which is a big upgrade from my old version. I would highly recommend this product after 3 Vaultec purchases. I own two of these and the larger safe with a slide out shelf. It works great too!

This is a lightweight yet confidence-inspiring piece of kit that is great for keeping personal things secure and personal; whether EDC items like watches, knives, USB drives or firearms, or more trip-specific things like travel documents (passports, small photo equipment, etc.). The lock / unlock process is smooth and reliable, and the included security cable helps keep it where it is supposed to be. Could a motivated thief cut the cable and take it? Sure. But is it likely to be secure from kids or random maintenance personnel, etc. that might be a little too curious? You bet. It also has the exact dimensions to fit in a rear floor bin on a late model RAM truck - which is an amazing stroke of luck for a long road trip. Very highly recommended.

VAULTEK Lifepod 2.0 Secure Gun Safe Review In many ways this is a very great gun safe for specific applications. This is not a bedside or nightstand type gun safe. It is built for travel. Waterproof, airtight, lightweight, great for taking it in your car or boat and it’s TSA compliant for air travel. I bought it thinking I could use it as a bedside safe. A couple of things make it unusable for this kind of application. Primarily there are two clips, one on either side, which pull the case closed tightly – making it airtight and waterproof. If you’re using this for a bedside safe, getting the clips unlocked could be difficult and clumsy. This will add time and complexity to getting to your gun quickly. The clips do what they’re supposed to do, but just be aware. The clips are also pretty loud when you spring them open. If you’re looking for stealth operations to unlock it in the middle of the night, this safe isn’t for you. Great as a travel safe and taking your stuff with you in a very secure case, but not for easy use at your bedside in the middle of the night. It just didn't work for me.

The Vaultek Life Pod 20 is simply amazing and I believe it to be the best portable safe for traveling that money could buy at this current time. I originally purchased this for a camping trip to keep it beside me at night just in case an animal or person put my family or I in harms way. I honestly thought I would only use the safe for traveling purposes, but I absolutely love this thing and have been keeping it right beside me on my nightstand. It is made up of hard plastic, but it honestly feels extremely sturdy and durable. As for the button inputs and biometrics, the inputs work great. The biometrics work well too, I'd recommend using the 1st and 2nd user profile for one finger so that it can read your finger print better at different angles. My only gripe with this safe is the micro USB charging port, for the love of God it is 2025...why would you make a product that uses micro USB in the age of Type C charging. It's a bit of a goofy move, but other than that this safe is seriously awesome and I highly recommend it.

*** Update after 1 month: have accessed the safe w thumb print 60+x w no issues After a ton of research this is what I settled on for my bedside safe. The biometric system was easy to program and works great. Plenty of room inside. If it holds up, I can justify the price which seems a bit high.
