I have several Shelly devices and have been very happy with them all (sans the ShellyDW2 but that is a for different review). This purchase was no exception.This device has a smaller profile than most of the other similar Shelly devices I have used which was a nice surprise.This device be powered by 12v or 24v, AC or DC operation. AC operation requires an additional external device, which I am assuming is a diode bridge, that comes packaged with the device. Since I am running 12v DC I didn't need it.This device input and output connections are exposed, and while it is all low voltage, I would recommend it be installed within an enclosure (plastic, otherwise it will impede WiFi connectivity). This device is not waterproof or water resistant and if being used outside must be installed within a water tight enclosure.The initial installation/testing was done using the built-in web interface rather than the Shelly app. That is because I planned to manage the device via Home Assistant/MQTT so no need to go through adding it to the Shelly app just to remove it later. But I have used the Shelly app before and have installed Shelly devices for others who managed/operate the devices using the app and the app is pretty, well designed, and intuitive, even for the less tech savvy.Shelly supports multiple different protocols and connection modes making integrating and controlling these devices locally (without the need for external/cloud services) possible.My application: I have 4 small 12v, LED, indoor accent lights, illuminating indoor plants and such, an I and needed to balance the brightness of each fixture independently.I configured the device to run in 'White' Mode, giving me the ability to control 4 independent white LEDs fixtures rather than a single RGBW device so I didn't explore the various RGB features/capabilities.The only hiccup I had was when attempting to secure the device (changing the default password. This is something everyone should do, even if you are using the app. It, as well as the other Shelly devices I have, doesn't like the complex password I was passing it. It accepted it, and the password was changed but just not to the password I provided. This caused me to have to factory re-set the device and reconfigure it again. I am still instigating in order to open a support ticket with Shelly but bottom line, the issue is related to some specific special characters in the password.

Works great - does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have one connected to Apple HomeKit through the HomeKit firmware flash and another to an RGB light that I use as a busy/DND indicator light for my office phone.
