We had 31 year old canister in our house we purchased 4 yrs. ago. They were functional but looked dated and had been painted over the years. It also seemed that we were changing light bulbs quite often. I saw these lights on Amazon and thought I'd give one a try. I replaced the light over our mantel. Not only was it a breeze to install (around 3-4 minutes), but it looked fantastic. Therefore, I purchased 4 more to replace the kitchen fixtures. I say replaced but really you simply remove the face plate, unscrew the old bulb, then plug the new fixture into the half that screwed into the fixture and pop the new face plate into the canister. It couldn't be more easy! NO TOOLS!!! The halogen lights are bright and clear. What an easy fix!

The positive about this product is that it is bright, easy to install and like all gimbal lights, it can be tilted. However if you are looking for aesthetically pleasing product, look somewhere else. These light fixtures are bulky, stick out from the ceiling quite a bit. We installed it in the master bedroom. Would have preferred something with thinner rim. Also the lights go completely dark at lower settings of the dimmer and requires the dimmer to be almost halfway up for it start to light up. If we knew of the shortcomings beforehand, we would have opted for a different vendor.

Very easy to install. I replaced 16 recessed lights in my house including this swivel type. Most of my time was spent moving the ladder.For those of you stating that the torsion springs are not holding the light up against the ceiling drywall you need to install the torsion springs into the little torsion spring bracket clips in the can. If your can doesn't have the torsion spring bracket clips then buy some. Take a look at the picture. There are numerous videos on how to install these retrofit lights.

I was replacing existing can lights on a sloped ceiling with about a 45 degree slope. The old can lights had the plastic tube and trim ring with a screw in light bulb. I needed a LED replacement with a large enough trim ring to cover the existing hole in the drywall ceiling. These were perfect. Large trim flange on the covered the existing hole and the adjustable angle on the new light allowed me to point it straight down. Well made product, 5 minutes to install and good brightness.

I like the ability to tilt these lights since they are used above the fireplace. Besides swiveling the light I can rotate the lamp if needed. The color of 3000K is just right. Not too yellow and not too blueish. The lumen intensity is where I needed it. This is a personal preference. The tilt angle is limited to 20 degrees but for my application this is sufficient.
