RT-TCZ Aluminum Hood Latches Catch Kit for Jeep Wrangler TJ Accessories 1997-2006 (Black)

We live in the country and do a lot of highway driving. After replacing the OEM style hood holds a couple of times over the last 5 years, enough was enough. These keep the hood from trying to lift at highway speeds, and keep it rock solid when being passed by on-coming traffic on the highway. I wish we had done this years ago!

This is not a huge deal or problem, but with no instructions, I was at a loss of what to do since I could not reach the bolt head with the included Allen wrench. One of the included Allen wrenches can be used to remove the screws on both sides of the base of the latch. This is an easy step to do as long as you keep up with the screws and inner section. Overall a great product!

They look so much better on my older TJ. I had bought it used with the plastic style on there, but they were warping and just looked bland. These stepped up the aesthetic and feel so much more secure. And they weren’t that complicated to install, just pay attention to details.

I received these TJ hood latches late last night. Upon unpacking them, they seemed very sturdy and well built. Installed them this morning. The install was very simple if you are just a little mechanically inclined, which if you own a Jeep you have to be. Due to my custom fenders, the install took a little longer. Still they were done within 20 minutes. My overall impression is they are very well built and give you all the adjustment needed to get a great fit. They hold the hood down tight. They should be no fluttering of the hood at highway speeds. They also look very nice on the Jeep.

Took me a little bit to figure it out, I was kinda shocked they would leave the factory that wayNothing stops these things from making contact with the hood, I guess just don't latch them up too close, yes I used both spacers.No washers for any of the hardware so if you care about that you'll be going to the hardware storeI just think for $60 these things should be better thought out
