Honouring High Places: The Mountain Life of Junko Tabei

This is a fantastic book, well written and great story telling. Anyone who likes adventure and mountaineering will love and appreciate this book.

田部井淳子さんのご主人のブログで、紹介されていて、購入しました。届いたばかりで、まだ、全部読み終えていませんが、ハードカバーで、読み応えがありそうです。田部井さんの著書や、関連の本は、大抵、読ませていただいています。以前、スウェーデン人の友人に、田部井さんの事を教えたら、とても、感心してくれたので、彼女に、この本を紹介してみようと思っています。

This book grew on me. It is like reading someone's diary. Some "entries" are repetitive, others with interesting description of flowers, changing terrain, comparing Pacific Coast Trail with the AT.

This is an excellent book written by the first woman to summit Everest, Junko Tabei. The writing is very engaging and her storytelling flows beautifully. This is an excellent book about a very remarkable climber and woman.
