Super Fun ideas for the Macgyver lover!
When my husband and I were young we loved the original MacGyver. Now, our daughter is obsessed with the new one. I bought this book as part of a "kit" I am making for her for Christmas that she can use to make her own inventions. I have not read it cover to cover yet, but the parts I've sampled are easy to read and understand and I think she is going to devour it! What a fun idea for a book!

Better than video games
The kid really likes these books. I'm not thrilled about finding my pens taken apart and little messes everywhere, but I'm making the sacrifice for the development of his scientific mind. Plus the little projects he makes really are cool. Catapults, booby traps, etc. I'm happy to find him tinkering, taking things apart, building things, and exploring rather than spending all day on video games. : )

The Sneaky, Sneakier and Sneakiest uses Trilogy
This review is for all three books in this series. The first note is they are clearly written for the 13 year old and under crowd. For them, it should stimulate the creative scientific gene in them, and open their imaginations to harmless scientific experimentation. So if there is a young burgeonoing, tinkering youngster in your life, these books could be the spark to spur them into some educational fun.

Good book for my kids
This is a fun book for kids that invites imagination and problem solving. My kids love to use things from the recycle bin to make "inventions" and this book gave them some more ideas. Great for the under 12 crowd. Good for variety, too.

recycling at it's best.
Awesome book with great ideas. I have gone through it already and it has great ideas for reusing things.

Don't waste your money on this book
I bought this along with the author's first "sneaky" book (I'd give the first one two stars) and now wish I had saved my money. Cheesy is the best description I can give. The sneaky uses are completely obvious and, in many cases, too flimsy to survive construction. The author apparently is fascinated with safety pins, magnets, etc. but who needs a book to explain how to make a wire out of a paperclip? Also, the art is as amateurish as the ideas. Not exactly rocket science.

This book is one of many gifts we bought for our eight year old (going on thirty) grandson who loves to learn and experiment!

Great family fun
I loved this book and will use it. I didn’t realize there are other Sneak uses books and will find them all. Bought it for a precocious 7 year old but thought I would save his parents the hustle and keep it here for grandparent visits. He will love it all, especially turning a calculator into a metal detector but he will need more help than his busy parents will want. Perfect for Granny dates

Have any old walkmans handy?
I bought this book (and the first volume "Sneaky Uses...") looking for neat little design projects for science students. While there are a few that are ok and I thought might be suitable, MANY of the projects needed cassette-playing Walkman parts! Not really 'everyday things' - not even "everyday garage sale things" anymore! This might have been worth it about 10-15 years ago...but not now.
