GRIMOIRE NieR -Project Gestalt & Replicant System- (Japanese Import)

The Grimoire NieR is exactly what I expected, but if you're looking for your standard game art book, this is not it. The book does feature a lot of art and concept work, but commentary is entirely in Japanese and there's more text and short story than art. Translations do exist online if you're curious though. So if you're interested in NieR and don't mind this, then I definitely suggest picking up a copy.

This book is awesome. It is much more dense than I thought it would be, and includes a ton of stories that take place well before the game. It is also filled with amazing looking art. My only gripe is that they gave such a nice book a soft cover, instead of a hard one. As a warning, if you do not read Japanese, be warned that the reading is almost entirely Japanese, and you should only purchase this book for the art.

This book is not quite what I expected, but, I am not disappointed. How could I be? It's more Nier, the more the better. This is a mixture between official finished art pieces, concept art, strategy guide, and interviews. My only regret is that I can't read Japanese because the book is entirely written in it and I have no clue what anything says. I went in expecting that so I'm not too bummed, but overall this was a great purchase, I highly recommend it to any Nier fan.

100% a must-have if you're a Nier fan! Even if it is mostly in Japanese, the illustrations are beautiful and I love seeing the concepts from old iterations of the game. If you're interested, most all of the short stories have been translated and posted online so you can find them with a quick google search. A wonderful addition to any artbook collection!

This is a gorgeous artbook that is a perfect addition for any fans of Nier. Get it if you're on the fence even if you don't know Japanese like me you can enjoy the glorious art.

For everyone who enjoyed the original Gestalt or Replicant game, this artbook delves into the mythology of the NieR Project. Normally a high level of japanese is required to understand the interviews and developper's easter eggs, but there's a translation on the internet detailing everything you need to know about the book's contents, cut content etc. Otherwise you've got concept arts of the main protagonists, a detailed walkthrough of every place, weapons, ennemies. Overall a beautiful and complete artbook and guide.

I am seriously in love with the series. Although the book is written in Japanese, I'm still able to enjoy this book. There's a lot of screenshots and drawings included which I found to be amazing. :) If you are a major fan of NieR, I highly recommend this!

Super beautiful artwork in this book and a lot of other good stuff as well! It is in Japanese so being able to read quite a bit is necessary.

まず攻略本として。A～Dエンディングまで、全てこれ一冊あれば簡単に見ることが出来ます。そしてこの本の最後の方の小説に書いてある、通称Eエンディング。A,Bエンディングは見て、Cエンディングを見るか迷ったが、カイネは大好きなキャラ（もちろんエミールも大好き）なので、Cエンディングはすっ飛ばしてDエンディングを選びました。Eエンディングとは、Dエンディングのその後の話らしいが、読んでみたら「さすがカイネ！」と思える、このシリーズでは珍しい（？）ハッピーエンドと言える終わり方でした。（Cエンディング選ばなくてよかった！）その他にも、たくさんの小説や設定資料など、読みきるのが大変なほどの情報が載っています。このゲームのキャラクターやストーリーが好きな方なら買って損は無いと言い切れる内容です！普通の小説や設定資料から「こんなの書いちゃって大丈夫なの？」と思えるような、インパクトのある話（いい意味で）まで様々です。そしてこの美しいカイネのイラストの表紙！！とても気に入っています。なので文句無しの☆5つ！！

It's almost entirely in Japanese, but there is a fairly comprehensive fan translation you can find easily online. The book itself is of very high quality in terms of paper material as well as the artwork, the latter of which is gorgeous. If you are a fan of NieR, I highly recommend this book. It goes beyond that of a guide, and includes additional side stories and lore not found in the game.

Magnifique ouvrage, 224 pages très bien illustrées, le livre de découpe de la manière suivante : 11 pages de artwork plein format. 22 pages sur les personnages (avec des anecdotes sympathiques par-ci par-là ^^) 36 pages focalisées sur l'histoire (scène par scène, nous avons le point de vue de NieR, de Kainé et parfois des Gestalt) 72 pages de stratégies (Attaque de chaque arme, point de Spawn de certains items, points faibles des boss, liste des quêtes et beaucoup d'autres détails) 12 pages de concept art (magnifique ! Une des plus belles parties de l'ouvrage) 4 pages qui synthétise l'histoire, notamment la chronologie du projet Gestalt/Replicant 14 pages sur les armes du jeu et leur back story 5 pages d'interview avec les créateurs du jeu Et enfin pour finir, 32 pages de courtes histoires inédites ajoutant encore au monde de NieR et tissant un peu plus les liens entre NieR et Drakengard. J'ai omis encore quelques petites surprises par-ci par-là ^^ Ps: J'ai acheté chez le vendeur arumo pour 19.90 € et je vous conseille de faire pareil : Livraison en 15 jours, emballage impeccable, le livre est presque comme neuf !
