This should be chained to the Bible
Powerful testimonies and events, such amazing brothers and sisters in Christ who stood up for the faith and were persecuted for it. Thank God for this book.

Replacement for an older copy
My Father lent out an older copy of this, and a fee decades later has yet to see it returned. The book was recieved quickly and in wonderful condition. I'll have to post an update on how this one reads when he's finished!

Collectible
I got the Hardcover Edition because I felt this could be a collector's item. I was right. Well written and easy to read. Each story is only a page or two generally, so it make this an easy book to get through if your have a lot of interruptions (like if you're reading this at work) The book is huge, but sectioned off chronologically. Took me about a week to read through it. Makes a great gift idea.

So pretty! I love reading this book to my siblings and educating ourselves on the sacrifice of others. EVERYONE should have a copy of this.

Good book for every Christian
Christians are taking things for granted. They need to know the cost of what they are enjoying

Every Christian should have
Great book to read outloud to older kids. Short stories of Christians following Jesus to the end.

Started good but major theological flaw
The early sections on the apostles and saints was truthful and inspiring. However, the book quickly gets to examples of martyrs who died for beliefs that were in direct conflict of the early church fathers that previous chapters discussed.I donโt understand how anyone can truly honor someone, for example, who suddenly claims the Eucharist is not the real presence of Jesus when this is exactly what the church fathers from the previous examples believed. This is just one example of how this book claims valid martyrdom for anyone who dies for ANY belief, as long as the person himself claims to be Christian.
