They were the correct part
These worked for an old HP laptop that I wanted to add a second drive to. I had no problems with installation and the quality of the cable itself was identical to the factory cable.

Still playing with the second drive in a new (to me) machine. Want to remove Windows 10 and migrate back to Win 7 before using the machine and the WiFi was non-functional on the new (to me) machine when I received it. Have now received new WiFi card to install in the machine and now have to revert back to Win 7. Once that is accomplished I will install an SSD for the first drive and put in a conventional hard disk for the second drive connected with the new cable.

Easy
Worked perfectly for a DV7. You still need a caddy but mine had one so it was just a drop in.

It fit and it works!
The product was hard to find on HP (OEM). Once I got the part number, it was easy to find on Amazon!

Works Perfectly
Put a lot of life into my brother's laptop by letting me install an SSD. Pretty simple installation. Pop open the bottom of the laptop, plug the smaller end of the cable into the motherboard, plug the other into the drive, place the drive in the caddy, slot the cable into the preexisting groove, and put everything back together.

This connector prevented my HP Pavillion dv7t-6100 CTO Quad Edition from loading completely up.
The connector allowed my laptop to startup fully, once. But, it did not recognize the 2nd hard drive. The 2nd hard drive had been previously initialized and should have shown up under This PC. Then the laptop froze up. Upon restart my laptop would no longer get past the Windows Logo. The laptop loaded up wonderfully before I connected the connector and after I disconnected the connector! The only thing I liked was that the cable on the connector was the perfect length.
