It is a great book for modellers who are looking for individual markings. The book shows a wealth of personnel markings of all kind of helicopter used in the Area. However if you are looking for information about the helicopter in general other books will provide more details on the crafts. Here you will get pictures and descriptions only. From my point of view and for my purpose: Highly recommended!

My mistake . . .
This is a "retraction" of my previous review which I have, since, deleted. Due to my haste, I misunderstood a statement, appearing in "Vietnam War Helicopter Art, Volume Two, US Army Rotary Aircraft", concerning dates of events and personnel. My confusion basically was of John Brennan's book "titles". When I said there were inaccuracies in this current book, I was referencing a book not yet available . . . which is due out on March 10, 2021, "Vietnam War Army Helicopter Nose art, Vol. 2". Sorry for the confusion.

Great archive of cold war rotor wing a/c art.
Actually only bought this book because it recorded my old Army helicopter (UH1H - 69-15880) that I was the crewchief and flight engineer on for almost 5 years, but once I started reading the rest of the book, it was a pleasant surprise.Great collection of data, but the short blurbs of the pilots/crewchiefs/gunners are really fun to read.Might not come close to the ultimate guide to helicopter art, but is very well written and EXTREMELY well researched.(Image of me with 69-15880 just south of the RPK DMZ around 1989 or 90)...
