CD Products 1/16" Horseshoe Shims - 500 Pcs Blue

Not all same thickness due to burrs
I’m concerned that these shims aren’t the same thickness. Our latest 2 showers we had to redo. Couldn’t tell it by the eye but tiles got out of level 1/3 of the way up the wall. Just be cautious of the burrs on the shims

Shim thickness tolerance problem
The purpose of shims is to provide consistent spacing between items like ceramic tile during installation. The thickness tolerance on this particular brand of horseshoe shim is about 0.01 inches per my measurements. That's about 16% of the 1/16 inch shim thickness, which is not very good. The reasons are that the molding fill during manufacture are not always complete, and some also shims contain burrs. Go with the Brutus shims. They are more precise, made out of a better material, and I got them for about the same price as these.

Great value
These spacers/shims are fantastic! Accurate in size and versatile in use by being able to use the two ends, the flat side, or the rounded end. They are excellent if your tiles are rectangular or square, but I would recommend having the traditional, smaller “X” style spacers on hand if your tiles have a rounded shape because the width of the “U” shaped spacers might interfere with the radius of your tile.

Great!
Just wish these came in a storage container. Other than that they're awesome. Easy to chunk in quickly bc of the size & easy to remove.

Great shims
We use these for shimming tasks when building houses. These were specifically purchased for shimming the bottom flanges of vinyl windows to allow a water pathway. They have proven to be useful for many other places where you need a reliable 1/16 inch shim. And since they are color coded, they are easy to quickly identify.
