Could be amazing if it were accurate!
This layout stick is made of aluminum with plastic arms that extend out. Therefore it's very sleek and lightweight. However when I received mine it appears that at some point had gotten extremely hot to the point where it melted a couple of the arms a bit. This made a couple of the arms hard to open and close. But the main problem is the measurements are not accurate. Every year using this just for small projects and don't care about accuracy it is fairly close. But not good enough for framing floors and walls for a house. If you look at the pictures only the 32 inch measurement lined up. I purchased this to rebuild my house after a forest fire. But didn't get to start the building process for months. By the time I found out the measurements were off it was too late to return. Now I use it for a straight edge or to extend a level oh, so not a total loss. Hope this helps

Get one that doesn't fold if possible
Keeps on folding even if tight. So I have to readjust every now and then. Otherwise good tool

Great tool for the layout guy to have
Great tool for the layout guy to have. Will save time on marking joist, stud and truss location. No need for a tape measure just go. The folding arms save space in the tool box and keeps the cubs from mismarking.
