R50 Spot Reflector Bulbs SES Small Edison Screw Cap E14 R50 Spotlight Bulbs 40W Small Screw Dimable, AC220-240V, Warm White 2800K（4-Pack）

We've got an original Mathmos Astro lavalamp. In spite of me checking the dimensions of these bulbs before purchase, when I tried them, they're about a millimetre too tall. The product description says the bulb is 63mm from tip to top of the bulb - it's actually more like 82mm. This means when I place the glass back on the base after inserting the bulbs, the glass bottle actually touches the top of the bulb - there's no clearance at all and the glass sits crooked because of this. I've no idea if my lava lamp is a slightly different to the standard spec - but these *aren't* going to be a suitable replacement.

Functions well, saves power.Colour of light is white and very similar to sunlight - great to make areas feel fresh, light and open, not so good in a bedroom where you want a more yellow light before and after sleep.

I originally had an issue with these on my dimmer, it wasn't clear at the time WHICH dimmer they would work with. It would appear that as long as you have a modern (TRIAC?) dimmer then all should be OK - not good on an old dimmer though.

These bulbs have replaces those in my lounge and the brightness is so good that I can read comfortably without my additional overhead reading light. Top marks!

Compact but bright ... excellent

Incredibly bright but maybe too much so. Would suit more a garage rather than indoors.
