Laugh out loud funny!
Read this book many times - I still laugh out loud at the antics Pete McCarthy gets up to .... avoiding bills in a field, getting drunk in bars with strangers and of course trying to visit any bar with the name McCarthy in it!So funny and able to put a grin on your face.

Second very funny edition as good as the first.
Well worth a read, flits around the world but the funniest sequence was back home in Ireland and when I say funny I found it one of the best and achingly hilarious passages I have ever read !

This book embarrassed me.
I tried to read the book in a railway carriage full of commuters. As I got into the book I began to smile, then chuckle and then laugh uncontrollably. That's why I was embarrassed.Unlike other books which are difficult to put down this one had to be put down, or I fear I would have been.I have just ordered McCarthy's Bar.

What a writer !!!!!
McCarthy is a fabulously funny writer and this book is full of laughter, irony, and excellent lessons in antipodean history. A fantastic sequel to his last book "McCarthy's bar" which again was uproariously funny. Buy both of them but read the bar first because it sets the scene for his quest. The delivery from Amazon was very quick - much faster than predicted.

What more could you want from a book...?
The most entertaining read that you will find on this planet. You feel as if you are a personal audience with Pete McCarthy and the tangents to his conversational thoughts are mindblowingly entertaining. Definitely a book to be kept and read many times so you can appreciate its content to the full. Such a talet.

Three Stars
Not as good as McCarthy's Bar unfortunately, but still an interesting read.
