Great Read
B A Trimmer as usual pulls you into the story, not letting you escape until the last page, then leaves you wanting more. I have read and enjoyed every single novel, loving the characters and the humour. I hope you have started the next adventure because I can not wait to read it.

Exciting adventure, mystery, and romance!
As a weekend ski trip for Laura and Max is planned, Laura's biggest worries are what to wear and the tiny detail that she has never skied, and isn't sure she even wants to try. However, the hot tub on the roof that is surrounded by snow looks awfully nice. So keeping the hot tub forward in her mind (along with time alone with Max) she says yes and is swept off to a weekend adventure. As is all too often when Max and Laura are together, the adventure gets out of control. For readers of this eighth (!!) Laura Black book, it will come as no surprise that we are treated to adventure, mystery, danger, off-balanced characters, mobsters---err former mobsters, sleazy lawyer, hung-over office worker, unusual neighbor, fine scotch, romance, a weird cat, and so much more. The author skillfully weaves these seemingly unrelated components together with a result that is so much fun to read, you have to forgive them for making you chew your thumbnail as you progress through the alarming parts! What a treat to read and watch the constant changes in Laura Black's exciting life. Superb!

Fun, but get a proofreader!
This author, like many others, obviously uses some kind of voice-recognition dictation system. Spell check doesn't pick up homonym errors - you need a skilled proofreader to catch them! In this book alone, the author misused "council" for counsel, "Discrete" for discreet, and "there's" for theirs. I found similar errors in other volumes, such as "airplane hanger". (It's "hangar" unless your airplane fits in a closet on a triangular suspension device.) The stories are fun and inventive, but the frequent encounters with misspelled words are very distracting!

I love this series!
Although this could easily be the end of Laura Black, I sincerely hope that is not the case. Laura and her law firm friends, her connections to the Mob, and her cat with its balcony cat door leading to the neighbor's apartment all make delightful reading. Obviously, I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series.

Great read everything you want humor, mystery, sex, and suspense.
Fun to read, full of mystery and suspense. Great characters with great backstories. You feel you know them. The author put great twists but keeps a humorous angle to the story at the same time.
