Too good ….

Worth watching

This is a great movie, one of those movies that you can watch again and again even though you know the story. I had first heard about the Iran hostage crisis when it made news but had absolutely no idea of the classified "Argo" story. I was totally impressed with the way this movie was shot - the photography, the minute observations of that era have been intimately captured. It is like going back into history.Note: This movie actually deserves 5 stars from me but I had a "not so good" experience with this particular purchase. I bought this Blu-ray in August but only got a chance to watch it for the first time on Oct 5th. The disc had problems. It stops and pauses and is unplayable. I had to skip portions of it to make it work. Unfortunately, I cannot return it back now. Lesson learnt is that don't order goods in advance. I never expected this though as I own some 150+ movies and this is the first time something like this has happened with a new movie disc.

THIS DECISION PROVED TO BE VERY APT SINCE THIS IS A NO NONSENSE AND DOWN TO EARTH FILM.THE VERY SIMPLISTIC PRESENTATION (NO COMPUTER GRAPHICS) OF THE FILM IS ALL ENGROSSING.THE FILM IS PRECISE,CONCISE & CRISP.A LOT CAN BE WRITTEN ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF THE HUMAN LIFE & VALUES DEPICTED IN THE FILM.IN SHORT THIS IS A THRILLER WITHOUT UNDUE ACTION BUT WITH HIGH EMOTIONS..PRAISE FOR THE DIRECTOR,THE ACTORS & ALL BEHIND THE SCREEN ARTISTS.A MUST SEE FILM.HEMANT TATTUPUNE.9763261200

Excellent Picture Quality and Audio on Blu-ray. However shady label pasted on price and manufacturing sticker. The Original MRP is 999 and Date of Packing is 7/2017 but they pasted a label on top and changed MRP to 1199 and Date to 10/2018.

Well to be honest, I have this urge to have a nice collection of best movies of all times. Wrt, I came across Argo @ imdb. The storyline mentioned in it looked quite interesting and that how I made this purchase. I must say for a DVD paying 550 was somewhat on the higher side.But I must also admit, it is a wonderful movie @ backdrop of disturbance in Iran. The picture quality and sound are very good.

Excellent service. Package arrived on time and in excellent condition. Really enjoyed this movie (especially the extended cut). Lots and lots of extras. The best part is that it's based on a true story. Well worth adding to your collection.

Great dvd copy of a brilliant film very tense thriller keeps you gripped until the end and priceless humor as well Alan arkin and John goodman are a great double act

Today's cinema is so special effects based that it is really nice to see special effects been used to help a story to be told rather than taking all the attention to itself. What's really important here is the story, the way it is told, the narrative of the movie. Special effects here are used to recreate a moment in time, a place in time and it is used so discretely that makes the whole experience more satisfying, more immersive. The extras here contained amplifies the situation, the characters and the efforts to bring the whole momentum to life. It's a satisfying edition for a great story.

Treat it as a thriller where you already know the ending and it is fine, but as a piece of history it as closer to Blackadder or U-571.Only 4 stars as I cannot imagine watching it a second time.
