Its a neat counter visual when the water is clear and the little jelly fish work properly. Two issues I had with mine: 1.) One of the jellyfish kept getting water in it, so it would float for a little while then sink to bottom. Subsequently, it got caught in the circulation motor, so that was fun to fish out. 2.) I filled with water and put the drop of dish soap in it. It worked great for a little while but the water would start clouding up after a few days. Tried a few different concentrations of soap to water, no better.So its cool when it works but otherwise... meh.

This lamp is pretty cool if your expectations aren't too high. It did take the better part of a day for the jellyfish to start moving and I probably added too much soap in trying to get them going so the water is also quite cloudy right now. I'll use distilled water next time I refill and only a drop of Dawn. I purchased it for myself and.... my cat. He seems to enjoy watching them. The light does dim and brighten noticeably and abruptly as the pump turns on and off apparently, so thats disappointing...ruins the vibe a bit but the hum is quite when its on, I cant hear it. Its smaller than I would like for the price. They do look real however from a distance. Overall I'm comfortable with my purchase...If it stops working in a few months- I'll update my review.

I followed the directions. At first both jelly fish stayed at the top. I was disappointed. Later on my daughter, poked them down with her finger and hands... who knows she is 9... The blue one starting going up and down and the pink one stayed at the top. Then my daughter worked her magic on the pink one. Now, they are dancing fools!!! I turn the lamp off and back on and they go to town.Key pointsI used way more soap than the directions called for.Give them a day to get it together.Poke on them.Enjoy. We fell asleep watching them. It is very quiet and lights are beautiful.UPDATE: After some time, I guess the pink jelly fish said "there can only be one!!!" Because one day, poor little blue jelly fish was dead at the bottom. He had one little tentacle fluttering in the steam. As to say, "good bye world." Depressing!!!Anyhoo, I loaded their little butts up and mailed them back..I wish you better luck than I had.

Just as expected, works great. Really fun for an office or a kids room.

Got this for my daughter for Christmas, 3 months later is in the trash. It never did the bubbles, lava part. Was a red, orange color that just sat at the bottom of the glass. I went to unplug to move its location and when I plugged it back in it didn't turn on anymore and the stuff inside turned brown and the spring is now out. Do not buy this crap.

This was a Christmas gift for a 9 year old. She loves it in her room

We had bought another one of these from another company, and it stopped working after 24hours due to running the batteries down. My daughter fell in love with it, so we looked for a new option that plugged in! We just got this in the mail today and it much better quality than the one we purchased before. I did have to add more detergent to get it to work. My only recommendation was maybe adding something that seals the top. It’s going to go in my 3 year olds room, and I worry a little about her knocking it over. Definitely recommend, and will purchase another for my classroom.
