I like it BUTit is very dated -- a lot as changed in the almost 20 years since it was written (and when the houses were designed). There are new energy standards, and building codes, there are a lot of new materials (recycled) made from old, there are all sorts of new tech features and upgrades possible for solar, conservation of water (toilets, etc.), and so much else. Sadly the new ethic -- at least on this resort island -- is to build the biggest, most opulent place ever, which is deplorable and pathetic. There is a lot to love in this book but it badly needs to be upgraded and updated. Photos and sketches are helpful but new ones might be helpful as well. More sources of info such as how to find state building codes, energy codes, alternative energy stuff would all be useful. More references and a bibliography. I like (and we need) to see external measurements as well as internal.

No help in the look & description of what the finished product looked like!
It was a disappointment, I was hoping to get a book that showed finished plans with color & what the house looked like in a real picture!! The plans were just drawings & outlines of the houses. I threw the book in the garbage because it was useless with no ideas at all.
