This is an excellent book that explains in easy steps what the moon is, and where and why it is where it is. Many photos to show the easy parts to look for. Also a section on mans interaction with the moon.

Very basic information but suitable for children learning. Quite dumbed down in places, for example: There is a page for photographing the moon that assumes people only take photos with an iPhone. So you take your iPhone, put it on a telescope and take lots of photos at different settings until you get one you like. Done! Really?
