This book has everything you could ever want to know about watercolours. Every technique, style and subject you could ever want. Loose, detailed, abstract, vibrant, calm, landscapes, flowers, buildings, people, pet portraits. You name it it's there! Professional, high quality advice. Well laid out, easy to read and follow. It has a lot of really great information on which colours to choose, different properties and how they interact, mixing colour to achieve other colours, moods and effects throughout the whole book. Practical easy to follow information on mixed medias. I have some beautiful books by the best watercolour artists, but I know that whatever I choose to do with watercolours - this will be my main reference for ideas every time. Literally the only book you need.

Excellent book for a beginner would recommend

A lot of books are about art and they are not about creating art. This one is such a good read for acquiring different techniques in watercolor. I’ve been painting watercolor for over 3 years but this is a good way to take me back to “relearn” what I could have missed or never knew about.
