A new rock genre is born
This is one of mellencamp's a finest composition this one for to consider a truly crafted piece of work.Production is over the top and listener is rewarded with a enjoyable albumIgnore the cover picture it's probably will put some folk of purchasing this cd.If you want something completely different and are bored with today's 2017 rock music then this one from a number of years ago should do the trick.( Light rock)If you go to rock concerts then this one will show how it should be done you can forget about going to live gigs and appalling sound and prospect of needing a hearing aid in your 50sThis music will do the honours etcYou wouldn't need this hearing aid as the music is sold in a positive way without cranking up the volumn.

A bit undecided.
I've only played this a couple of times and still trying to get into it.Not so immediately likeable as some others like Scarecrow for instance.Arrived on time.

Mr Happy Go Lucky- I saw You First.
This is a brilliant CD but if you come in to it 'cold' so to speak as I did you need to play it a few times to 'get' what John Mellencamp is getting at.But "Key West Intermezzo (I Saw You First)" was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and"Just Another Day" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. So that gives you an insight into the fact that it really does have worth and is well worth an investment. In this CD Mellencamp has strayed from his Rock and Roll/ eletric Folk Rock style (think of early Bruce Springstein) and he has used trip-hop drum loops and samples to expand his music. It works. at time the CD feels like a musical journey with talked intros but there really is some wonderful music in there but you really have to work at it so to speak.Amazon do not provide a clear track listing so I have included one.1. Overture2. Jerry3. Key West Intermezzo (I Saw You First)4. Just Another Day5. This May Not Be the End of the World6. Emotional Love7. Mr. Bellows8. The Full Catastrophe9. Circling Around the Moon10. Large World Turning11. Jackamo Road12. Life Is Hard13. What If I Came Knocking?
