Cliffhanger!!!! Well that went down well, eek! I had a funny feeling that was a possibility too.So this is a slow burner and very tame.As I started reading it I was debating it as it’s usually not my kind of reads but it just kept getting interestingI feel like there’s so much more to come so I am looking forward to book 2FMC is sixteen year old Brooklyn and she moved to New York to live with her uncleShe lost her mumDoesn’t know who her dad is, never met himHer new school is for the rich and lucky for her that her uncle is a janitor at the school and secures her a placeThere is your typical high school bully girl with her minions4 boys who are the popular ones who think they rule the school etc although it seems the female bitch of the school is actually running this schoolBrooklyn is literally inexperienced plain JaneI kinda wonder why any body would want her other than to torment her and bully as that’s how usual books go and this doesn’t go that way lolBrooklyn has attracted the bad boy and one of the golden boysIt’s mixed emotions with this and how it plays out is gonna be bloody interestingThanks to the author for keeping it interesting 😁

This book took me time to get into and while I don’t understand how quickly Matt and Brooklyn seem to like eachover without knowing eachover very well it did remind me that first loves are a whirled wind! Bit predictable, I guessed all twists but I was kept wanting more with lines like “ I’ll be your first evey thing” and “I’ll be your only husband”. Definitely rotted for Janitor jimbo his and Brooklyn’s relationship brought tears to me more than once! In the end I need to read more of Matt and Brooklyn and even Rob, he might actually be my favorite character, However I find Felix annoying but understand his roll on the plot.

I tend to read the why choose genre rather than m/f but I'm a long time fan of Ivy and have seen this series popping up in her group for ages. Reading people's comments and quotes felt like I was the kid not getting the ice cream. So I decided to rectify it and not am I glad I did. Absolutely loved the book and I can not wait to see what dark hole I've stumbled down.

I loved this book, and I can't wait for the sequel! It made me cry more than once, but not too much to make you sad, and put down the book. I read it all in one sitting and practically pulled an all nighter, but I must say enough though I am tired from lack of sleep, it was worth it! And if I'm being honest had the second book already been released I would have stayed up even longer reading it! The twist at the end didn't surprise me but it did shock me, I'm surprised I didn't see it coming, but then again I wasn't too focused on who her dad was whilst reading it. Again I can't wait for the next book, hopefully the time we have to wait, won't feel long at all! I hope you liked my review and found it helpful, I guess it is more aimed at people who read the reviews of a book after they finish it, to see what other people thought of it. Anyway off to read my next book!

Let me start by saying I generally love high school books. There is something about teens going through dealing with first loves, first heartbreak, and the trials along the way to graduation.This book had the bones to a great story, but unfortunately it ran all the cliches whilst telling it. Poor orphaned girl going to rich bitches school, entitled Queen B and arrogant jocks, drama and surreal Gossip-girl style happenings.So I can only give it 3 stars, sorry.

The start was shaky but after that I was hooked I couldn’t put it down. It was a crazy emotional roller coaster ride that left me in tears. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone that can read.

Second time of reading this, but I do love the Empire High Series.I'm reading these first, this time round, they seriously play havoc with the emotions, but still enjoying the introduction of all the main characters, The good, the bad, and the downright ugly ..... teenage years are downright difficult to say the least, but I can't ever imagine going through half of what the main characters have gone through.Ivy is just awesome as an author, there's just so much endless passion, and many emotions in her writing, that she has captured me into her world, reading is basically my "me time", and I wish I'd found her books sooner.

Welp now I gotta read the next one. Kinda in the edge of my seat. And now it’s fixing me to write more.

Ok so first thing first I feel is my civic duty to warn people that this is not a stand alone book and has a pretty big cliffhanger, I usually don't like reading this kind of books until the full story is out because I hate this feeling of not knowing. That being said this was an amazing book, there were times when I wanted to smack some sense in the heroine head but she was only 16 so is perfectly reasonable to be senseless at that age, still my heart hurts so bad for her, I really hope the second book gives her all the joy she didn't find in this one, she deserves so badly to be happy.

Really loved the story and Brooklyn even if sometimes she was a bit too naive and way too forgiving... I wish I could’ve seen more about the Hunters and Caldwells, it would’ve definitely helped understanding some of their attitudes better (only reason it’s not 5 stars). What a cliffhanger!!! I was kind of expecting what happened but not the way it happened... which was great because I can’t wait for the next book to come out!!!

This is so addicting! I don't even what else can I say, just read all Ivy Smoak book and you're not gonna regret it

Nicely written, enough drama and intrigue. James seems like a douchebag and so does Isabella. Liked Kennedy.Sometimes being a teenager and 16 is so hard.The ending was a definite jaw dropper!
