Nana the Great Comes to Visit

I received an advance copy of this. It's a fun hype book about and expected visit from grandma. I gave my copy to a family that would enjoy it.

This book is SO FUN! It shows how the little things grandparents do for their grandchildren that are "outside the rules" make big impressions. I loved how the little girl narrator sees her Nana as just a bit naughty because she doesn't always follow the parents' rules for their children. I also loved the adventures she has with her Nana. It gave me ideas for the next time I visit my own grandchildren! Throughout the book, this sweet girl points out the many ways her Nana steps outside the parental rule lines, and gleefully shines a light on the role of her Nana in her life to make her see the joy all around her. I also loved how indulgent the mother was, and at the end, how insightful. "I actually think she's naughty in the best sort of way," Mama says. "That's why God gave us grandparents. Somehow they know exactly how much spoiling we need."I cannot wait to read this to my granddaughter! She's going to love it! I highly recommend adding this to your children's library!

While on our family getaway to the desert, I surprised my wife ("Nana") and our two older granddaughters with Lisa T. Bergren's newest book, "Nana the Great Comes to Visit"! It tells the heartwarming story of a wonderfully creative and fun grandmother who comes to visit and teaches her granddaughter how to live life more fully. The story is great and the colorful illustrations are captivating. There were so many fun parallels with my wife and her relationship with our granddaughters! Lisa is the award-winning and best-selling author of the "God Gave Us" series and she has done it again with this fantastic book. Highly recommend that you order it for the little ones in your life!

I bought this book for a friend who has a new grandchild. I loved the way that Nana brought joy and mischief ( in the best way) into her grandchildren’s lives. She builds forts, and uses twenty different colors of nail polish to paint her granddaughter’s toes. She encourages them to take risks and try new things, and then cheers them on. She is a Nana who loves with all of her heart and brings joy wherever she goes. It inspired me to be a Nana that embraces life fully!

Whether you are a Nana, Grandma, Grammy or whatever your grandchildren call you, this is a fun book to read to them. I wish that I was as fun as this Nana! I love the fun things that Nana does when she comes and visits her grandchildren. She's pretty creative. I also love the illustrations. They are cute and depict the activities in the story perfectly. A fun story and picture book for your young grandchildren and you to enjoy!

Nana comes to visit and you won't want her to ever leave. What an adorably fun children's book! The illustrations add depth and capture the character's quirks and love. This is a keeper. The pages will be well worn with sticky fingers after all the multiple readings night after night.
