The Concert des Nations shows that it also knows how to magnify the repertoire of the early 19th century, which will be confirmed by a forthcoming Schubert album. Review: A wonderful set and worth all the rave reviews - but? - This set now completes Jordi Savall’s Beethoven cycle, probably making it one of THE best in modern times and there is probably very little I can say that has not already been said!! However, I sometimes wonder if SACDs are just trying to be too clever and not everyone has the stereo equipment to enjoy that indulgence? I enjoy listening to all downloads purchased via desertcart through my desertcart Echo Show 8 and most sound very well indeed. Yes, we must remember the second set was recorded during the pandemic and required distancing among these superb young instrumentalists, but I think a slightly more forward balance like the first set, may have resulted in us hearing a little more of them just to enjoy the performances even more!! Other than that, a definitive complete set which will give much pleasure for many years to come.
