"History is sometimes thoughtless about the people who make it."
I saw the author being interview by Brian Lamb on C-Spain. The author was talking about this book on Harding. I enjoy studying American History via the presidents. The author does a great job of explaining the circumstances of Harding death, his bastard daughter, the scandals that came to life after his death, his presidential papers and his presidential legacy. Harding has been given a raw deal by history. This book does a decent job of giving defense to Harding.

The real mundaneness of Harding and his wife
Much of this book unfortunately has been used in so many other accounts of Harding's death as to render it redundant; however, every tid bit helps to explain the ostensible mystery surrounding the president's death. I enjoyed it and found the multiple versions eye openers! Dr. Sawyer, "The Duchess" and Gaston B Means add so much of the mystery and yet it all seems forced through the crucible of reality and the outcome has really only one intelligible conclusion. Really fascinating to me.
