Another great story
Sam “slider” Evans has lost too much, and he’s on the edge of giving up! The only thing keeping him here.... his boys. Losing his wife was such a blow, his MC thinks it’s grief, and yeah a little of it is, but most of it is anger and guilt! He’s got no time for his job, club or himself. And certainly not the babysitter who’s about to become a live-in nanny!Cora has had so much taken from her, and now she’s living upstairs in a MC club! Her father should have been there for her, but he’s dead, taken out after trying to help her best friends father kidnap his daughter! Her father was next really a father, he looked on her as a nuisance! Until one night changed all that, and made her runaway!Oh this one had me crying one minute and then smiling the next. Such a lovely story. Add in cute kids, a slobbering dog and a grumpy biker and I’m there. Cora has been there from the start of this series, and she’s been a great character, a fun type of person you’d want in your life, the soul of the party, a joker and a prankster. But Cora is hiding from something dark, something that keeps her awake at night! She knows she should speak to someone, but the fear keeps its bottled up inside. She’s such a fighter, she puts others before herself, and that’s how she got the job with Slider babysitting his two boys. But she wants more from life, she loves looking after the boys, but she wants her own home, a proper job and a family to care for. Slider has been a quiet character in previous books, hiding himself away, you think it’s just grief at losing his wife, but once you start reading, you find out it’s so much more! The action is still in the forefront of this series, and so is the drama and passion. But the dog for me made this book, and the kids, they were all just so cute! Watching Slider fight his feelings for Cora was interesting, he knew what he was pushing away, but he felt like he didn’t deserve the club or Cora. Reading them both tell each other there deep dark secrets has me cheering.Catching up with previous couples and characters from the past few books always makes me smile, I love when the author keeps them in. You want to know how they are all getting on, and how their relationships are still growing.

A satisfyingly good romance with a strong touch of intrigue
The story of the Raven Riders continues with Slider and Cora's story. No plot spoilers.I have had and re-read this book at least four times and have no idea why I have not left feedback before. I will rectify that now.Laura Kaye has delivered on every book I have read, her characterisation is exceptional, well crafted and believable. The plotline is delivered in style with no pointless plot devices or red herrings and is intense enough to keep you reading. To obtain the best read from the book you really need to read the series, and in all honesty you should read the Hard Ink series first because that's where the storyline originates. It's a romance series with serious storylines aimed at an adult audience. There is no overly sweet writing in Laura's books. There are lots of hot sex scenes, each of them appropriate and loving. There is a potential trigger which I feel should have been mentioned in the blurb and in the spirit of assisting fellow readers make an informed choice that potential trigger relates to M/F rape which is not described in detail but rather, through a series of flashbacks. This could be potentially distressing for some readers.I highly recommend the series.

Raven Riders book 3
Slider has been keeping his distance from the rest of the Raven Riders since the death of his wife a couple of years ago, they think it's grief that has him pulling away from them but he's actually holding onto some pretty huge secrets, ones that have been tearing him up inside and have made it impossible for him to trust the people closest to him. Cora has been working as a nanny to his two young sons since she was rescued by the gang with her best friend Haven, she's fallen in love with the boys but the more time she spends with Slider the harder she finds it to resist the attraction she feels towards him too. It isn't until Cora finds herself in danger once more that Slider starts to realise his own feelings but can he learn to trust in love again after everything he's already been through? It's always fun to go back to this world and get the chance to catch up with the Raven Riders, there are so many characters here to love and I've been wanting to see Slider's broken heart healed for a long time now. We've seen the attraction building between him and Cora over the last few books so it really was about time they gave into temptation and their chemistry was so hot it was definitely worth waiting for. I thought I knew what I was going to get in this story but Slider's issues are different to what I was expecting and his wife's death was the least of them. He blows hot and cold with Cora but once we discover what happened in his past it becomes very easy to understand where he's coming from. No matter how he is feeling about anything else he always puts his boys first but he's been so lost recently that they're all suffering together. I loved seeing Cora help the boys come to terms with their loss but also helping Slider remember how to have fun with them and rediscover his friendships with the rest of his MC.Cora herself has only ever wanted a family to love and who will love her in return. Her father treated her horrifically and the only person who has ever really been there for her in the past is Haven so this story is about her finding acceptance and friendship amongst the Raven Riders as well as love and a family with Slider and his boys. Both Slider and Cora deserve their happily ever after and I enjoyed seeing them finally achieve it. There are still plenty of characters who I'm hoping to see get their own happy endings so this series continues to be an auto-buy for me. There is just something about Laura Kaye's writing that sucks me in every time and she always leaves me wanting more.

A gentle romance in a violent world
I really love Laura Kaye’s characters and the Raven Riders books have some of my favourites. The Raven Riders are an MC who try not to get too far into illegalities but have a program where they protect and relocate abused women and children and skirt into some grey areas as far as that is concerned. Nor are they afraid to protect what is their’s by whatever means necessary. This is not a dark romance by any stretch of the imagination, but it does raise some “dark” issues such as rape, animal abuse and infidelity and death.Cora and Slider have both been through such difficulties in the past that they have kept buried and secret even from those closest to them that it’s a wonder that they manage to find their way through to each other. I particularly like that this isn’t a case of insta-love, but something that creeps up on them, as they care for Slider’s children together. This is book is a great illustration of how families can be made of both blood and choice, as in the smaller family of Slider and his two sons and the wider family of choice in the Raven Riders and also Cora and her sister of choice, Haven, who she shared such difficult early years with. Cora has been through hell and back but has always kept a smile on her face and hidden all her problems. It’s wonderful to read how she gently brings joy back into the lives of two young boys and more slowly their father and how they bring hope and a home to her.Laura Kaye writes books that despite being about situations that are anything but normal feel real when you read about the emotions of the characters. You feel for them and want their happiness. All in all, a really lovely book.

A full five star action packed romance
Book 3 in the Raven Riders series sees Sam “Slider” Evans and Cora Campbell’s Story coming to the forefront. This is a story I have very much been anticipating, and I’ve got to say it lived up to every one of my expectations. Two years after the death of his wife, Slider is still grieving. Working full time and looking after 2 young (and adorably cute) boys, Sam and Ben. Enrolling the help of Cora to babysit when he’s working the night shift is probably one of his better moves, his boys love her and she loves them, she’s a natural. A few months into their arrangement things start getting complicated and feelings start getting involved, Sam and Cora have an unmistakeable chemistry, but neither are in a position to take things further. With so many secrets between them friendship is all they can commit to. A story about family and commitment with the usual MC drama involving all the Raven Riders and their women. This time as well as dirty cops, we have an underground dog fighting ring to deal with. Lots of action, steamy moments, cute moments and super emotional scenes. I loved it. A full five stars from me.All the Raven Riders books can be read as standalone.
