Highly recommended for any type of personal loss
This book takes you to places you may not have thought of as "grief". A very thorough approach to loss in all its forms, and examines every perspective of the personal experience. Critical reading for anyone experiencing any type of loss, not just through death. Highly recommended.

Challenging to read for an ordinary person but such an important subject
I am very interested in learning more about grieving that doesn't have societal support or understanding. This book is the place to start. However some of the chapters are a bit heavy and I am not a psychologist so I am reading bits and pieces of the book. My own interest is that I am an animal lover and proud owner of Fu Manchu, an adorable cat and I am very interested in helping people who are suffering the loss of a beloved pet. I now have a certificate in counselling from a university and am reading alot to help me so that i can work with people with some confidence.

Healing Words
This book provides important guidance in healing from loss for professionals and the rest of us.It was very helpful to me as a resource while writing a grad-school paper on grief.
