Way better than the original insert!!!!
Yes you do need to sand a little off the underside of the front corners but if you can’t handle that simple task you probably shouldn’t be using a tablesaw. The people trashing this product for that reason alone are clearly incompetent.

Not made for beginners, but does a great job.
This insert is far sturdier than the standard insert provided by Bosch on the 4100 series. It will fit very snugly if you want it to because it is made slightly oversized and needs to be sanded to fit your insert slot. Also, You will need to root-tool a slot for your riving knife BEFORE you make your blade cut. You can use witness chalk if you are obsessed with precision, but the riving knife cut doesn't need to be as narrow. Your zero clearance does its job at the front of the blade.

requires sanding in front to fit.
Everybody here has already mentioned that you have to sand the front down to fit, and I'm taking off a star because if you're going to claim this is for the 4100, then make it fit the 4100. So why did I buy another? Because when you get past the hassle of sanding it down, it really is a great zero clearance insert. It's made of incredibly strong material (but not so strong that your carbide blade will have an issue), fits perfectly if you sand it right, and the leveling adjustments and screws are easy to work with.Big word of warning to people using this as a zero clearance insert for a dado stack for the first time: I, not being the sharpest tack in the box, forgot to take note that the outside shape of my dado stack is NOT the same unbroken surface shape of a normal blade. I tried raising the dado stack all the way through the insert, and the pin connecting the stack proceeded to knock into the bottom of the insert. The 2x4 I used to clamp the insert down flew apart and I was lucky not to get hurt.Yikes.

Perfect fit. Makes for better cuts.
So glad I got this. I managed to jam a board in the OEM plate and bent it - very violent event and injured my hand. I bought this despite the reviews about needing to sand it down to fit and they were exactly right. Does not fit right out of the box...but about 5 minutes with an orbital sander and it was perfect. I just stood there and hit the corners a few times while test fitting until it dropped right in. No big deal. I will say that with the blade so tight to the plate now it is MUCH louder than before. The metal blade seems to "sing" in a higher pitch now and I have to wear ear protection - which I didn't before.

It doesn't fit out of the bag and requires extensive sanding or hammering to get it in
While the sturdiness and structure of the insert is amazing (I'd give it 5 stars for this), I have no idea how this is designed and sold for a Bosch 4100. It simply doesn't fit. The front edge is too long and you need to sand it pretty extensively for the insert to even think about getting in the table space. (note, you would really have to hammer the crap out of this to get it in with no sanding and would probably break the insert or your table before it would go in). Even then I'd have to hammer it in and likely hammer it back out. Why couldn't they just properly measure and design this is beyond me...especially when sold to people who measure and design as a job/hobby

Great product, but didn't fit my Bosch 4100 table saw slot very well at all
I spent hours filing the edges and leveling before it would fit properly. I almost sent it back, but I chose to modify it myself. Also, the mechanism inside my saw that rises when raising up the blade has protruding hardware that contacts the bottom of the insert before the blade is fully extended upward on the table. I will have to try and drill some holes to accommodate that hardware so that I can fully extend my saw blade. It is a quality built product, but it is definitely NOT one-size fits all. I'm looking forward to some nice clean cuts on some new maple I just bought.

Bosch 4000 table saw.
It did not fit my older Bosch 4000 table saw. The width was fine but the length a tad too long. It was either send it back or remedy the situation. Since the regular dado slot was unavailable, I was kinda cornered, and needed the insert. I simply sanded the edges to fit. But, I shouldn't have to do that and made the insert non returnable. So, it works if modified and now I can make the dadosLater on. Turned out to be a hunk of garbage. It cracked and the top layer ripped off. Should have waited.

Cut My Finger!
I had to sand down the ends for quite a while to get this to fit. Once it fit, I locked the fence to the right of the blade protrusion to hold it in place, and raised the blade slowly to cut through it. After that, I checked to see how smooth the cut line left was and, big surprise, it is razor sharp, similar to laminate wood after it's cut! It was so sharp that I cut my finger; I told this to the manufacturer and they advised me to "sand it". LOL.
