Amusing and enjoyable whodunnit
Mrs Pargeter is a likeable amateur sleuth in her later years- a bit like a Miss Marple who possesses wealth and a set of skeleton keys. The story is told in a lighthearted way and the story unfolds at a good pace. It’s easy to read- undemanding but fun.If there are more in the series I would like to read them.

Good read.
Well that was different and not the type of book that I normally read.Early on in the book you can see what happens but it took so long to getThere I started to loose interest.

Gentle murder mystery.
Nice pace, not to many characters, easy to follow. A nice change from serial killers 😊.A refreshing read. Well worth it.

Filled with twisting turns
I have rarely posted a review but here the descriptions of the characters enthralled and Simon's production and plot deserves to be made into a play.

Mrs Pargeter
OMG I loved the twists at the end , but very sad to read that Mr Dawlish missed his friend so much he dwindled away. Loved Mrs Pargeters role as an interfering old woman who had to find out more. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a mystery maybe ? But I couldn't put it down, and thats what counts isn't it?

A simple but enjoyable read
Nothing in this story will tax your brain. It is what it is, a pleasant story, reasonably well written with some half decent characters and an uncomplicated plot. Quite frankly I wish there were more like it from other authors!
