Rating the Commentary Tracks, Not the Movie
The commentary tracks by Frank Djeng & Bobby Samuels are not very good. Djeng’s solo commentaries are usually exemplary; he doesn’t need to be paired up with someone else to keep it moving or informative. And these are an example of how it actually makes things worse. Most of it is Bobby bragging about who he knows from the Hong Kong martial arts scene, how they gave him special consideration, how he had it going on with Sammo & his family, etc.It seems like they’re trying to establish his resume or credibility so he can do more commentaries, or get more/better movie deals, or something. He wants you to KNOW he’s part of an exclusive club. That’s great, but that’s not what we’re interested in & this isn’t the right platform for that stuff. Post it on a blog, a press release, a YouTube video, etc. We want to hear about the movie, not an hour-long speech about your life. By contrast, Bobby’s commentary on Sammo’s movie “The Victim” is really good (he’s paired with someone else there, and they both do a good job). Most of the remainder of their commentary is just describing what’s happening on the screen & saying how much they love this scene or that actor. Djeng is usually much better than this. Here, he unfortunately chose to take a back seat. This isn’t as bad as the ones - for any movie - with Mike Leeder & Arne Veneman (Leeder talks way too fast, is way too hyper, constantly cuts Arne off before he can finish a single sentence, and it’s filled with lots of useless/annoying soft bragging too). But they're still very disappointing commentary tracks to put on such awesome movies.Bey Logan’s commentaries on the DVDs are, as always, infinitely better all around.

Prodigal son - the best kung fu film of all time.
Released in the early 80's, a stella cast of Yuen Biao, Sammo Hung, Lam Ching-Ying and Frankie Chan, this for me is the greatest kung fu film of all time. Its one of the only films I will watch with English dub, but make sure you also enable the newly translated subtitles, as certain aspects of the story are very different. I could write a whole piece about the superb action sequences, the fight between Frankie Chan and Lam Ching-Ying is probably my favourite ever, shame it ends the way it does. Not going to tell you anything about the excellent story, and if you pay attention then you will notice there isn't just one Prodigal Son. I must have seen this film around 100 times, Eureka ceaseless dedicated to Hong Kong cinema is astounding, it has never looked or sounded so good.Warriors two was one of those films I never tracked down and it's superb, Sammo again directs and even though it was filmed a good few years before, it delivers the goods. Its a great time for those of us who love this genre, Eureka, Arrow and 88 Films are releasing pure quality. However, this is still top of my list. Buy it, trust me.

Very fun!
The Warriors Two & The Prodigal Son collection is a wonderful twofer film collection. Both movies are based on the legend of the real life kung fu master, Leung Jan. They're available on these two Blu-ray discs as 2k restorations. The first film stars Casanova Wong and Sammo Hung as students of Jan. They defend their town against an evil business men and his henchmen. The second film is about a spoilt brat Leung Jan (Yuen Biao) who goes on an adventure to learn kung fu after discovering his father pays off his opponents and has his butt handed to him in a real fight.I thought both movies were fun, great fun in fact. I had an absolute blast watching them. They have their moments of good humour and it's mixed up with lots of training montage's and kung fu battles to keep things going. The fight choreography is quite impressive. It's also very fast paced and especially frantic in scenes artificially sped up. Sammo does a lot of great stunts here and Yuen Biao really steals the show. He is quite underappreciated. I thought The Prodigal Son was the better of the two movies, as it does something a bit different compared to the average kung fu film. It's a great film and the real gem of this collection, in my opinion. The transfers from Eureka are quite impressive. They're about as perfect as you can get for a kung fu film. The movies are all extremely colourful, with impressive clarity and little to no print damage whatsoever. The scene where the bad guys utilise fire in the second film is visually stunning. The remastering of these films have had a lot of work put into them. This is a superb looking collection that you would never know was as old as it is.Warriors Two & The Prodigal Son are two fine films. Not in the top kung fu films out there but good enough to be easily recommended. They're very fun, very fast paced and the cast in both films are excellent. If you like Sammo, Biao or any of the other Eureka releases, this is a very easy collection to recommend.

Best versions to get, along with the original English dubs
The media could not be loaded. Both of the movies have been out for some time on Scandinavian Blu-Rays in a set with the same transfers but with different video codec.Warriors Two had the horrible English Dub from the old HKL DVD. I can confirm the new Blu-Ray from Eureka has the original English Dub for Warriors Two.The Prodigal Son has always had the same original English Dub for all releases.Great set to have, just horrible art work cover. I would of preferred a separate release for both movies. Eureka could of done this a box set with separate cases that would of been much better idea.

2 Classics from the Undisputed HK Legend Sammo Hung!!
I'm just glad the seminal classic "The Prodigal Son" as gettin a bliray release in its whole glory! "Warriors Two" is a bonus but TPS is hands down the greatest martial arts film ever made in the glory days of HkCinema. Sammo Hung (also Writer & Director), Lam Ching Ying & Yuen biao are all on brilliant form. The repeat value of this film is crazy! Pick it up & Enjoy!!Only issue is Eureka should've given us a solo release of a classic like "Prodigal Son" as opposed to bunching it up with "Warriors Two". Also alittle effort to bring new special features content wouldve been appreciated. What Eureka did was just pick up the special features from the Hong Kong Legends DVD release of "Prodigal Son" & threw em in here.
