The flavor is perfect. Sometimes I cook directly with it. Sometimes I order at the local Chinese restaurant some black bean dish and then recook it with this sauce and some rehydrated black beans. Wonderful.

I was out of black bean sauce so I trided Sun Luck brand. IMHO it does not have a deep black bean flavor. Went back to my old standby : L** K** K** Black Bean Garlic Sauce - I'm good
