Best flashlight I've ever owned.
I absolutely love this flashlight. I carry it every single day. I've used this so many times and it's also a great backup for defense if you needed it. Shine it on car parts, shine it under the cabinet, double tap the button and blind that assailant coming at you before you knock them out with it. It's a utility tool and a very good quality one at that. I use rechargable batteries with it and they last a very very long time before needing a charge. The programmable feature is great. I didn't want a strobe, so my low it one tap and my high bright light is two taps. Compact enough to carry in a front pocket, robust enough to last in all environments. The bright is super bright and will help find those items in the dark corner of an engine bay, the low is just right for common use all the time.

Great light
Huge streamlight fan and this is great! Easily fits in my shirt pocket and has a great beam on it. Great light that doesn't break the bank.

Reliability is paramount
I have several streamlight flashlights used as weapon lights. I just received this light and it is excellent just like the others. This looks like it will be an excellent handheld light for edc. I was tempted to buy a different light but I’m very glad I went with my gut and stuck with the brand that has served me well over the last 10ish years.

You can program the modes, I switched to low/high.
I have a couple streamlights. Both are the microstream, but one is from nine-teen-ancient and never gets used anymore. The other micro stream is great for small carry. But I always wanted a decent cr123a battery edc light. I did some scouting and I did like the 1l version, but I did not like how low the clip sat on it. So I decided to buy the 2l-x. I am glad I did, but I will still probably buy the 1l version too just to have. The only thing I dislike about this light is the toggle. Also, Streamlights instructions are unclear about how to do it. I found a youtube video that was very clear. Basically, you soft press 9 times and on the 10th you hard press it on until it turns off. Do this to switch between modes. The first one is all bright no matter how many times you press it. The second one is low/high. That is as far as I got because it was the most practical for saving battery life and just all around usage. I think the third one is high/low. Personally, I think the strobe is useless. If I want to disorient I can just quick press. Anyways, just do a quick youtube search and you will find one that is helpful. It won't be the streamlight one.I will invest in a rechargeable battery eventually, then I will invest in a protac 1L. Streamlight has newer versions of these lights, but they are triple the price. How they justify that, I have no idea. Please don't buy them. There is nothing special about them aside from an exterior redesign. Wait until they drop the price.

Well built and bright
Great light. Always keep it with me as part of EDC; Batteries last a pretty long time.
