Awesome! Easy to use, great tones for multiple genres/styles right out of the box, built in tuner and effects, option to hook up a footswitch, headphone jack, auxiliary jack. This thing is great. Meets all of my needs. The Blackstar Insider software is very cool as well for finding and downloading artist specific tones. So I think most of the other reviews on amazon and also on youtube and also in guitar gear magazines/websites pretty much cover the tone of the amp. It sounds great. The cleans sound great and the dirty tones rip at very low volumes. For a bedroom amp this thing is amazing. I really can't overstate how much I love the way it sounds at low volumes. I have 5 guitars and they all sound amazing through this amp. I love the way it sounds and I recommend you buy it but...... the first time I tried to move it and forgot to unplug it I destroyed the AC plug. It was totally my fault but it happened really easily. Luckily it's only $15-$20 to replace and I have another on the way but that would literally be my only complaint. Still... Five stars.

Nice practice amp. The distortion channels sound very good, from slightly overdriven, to modern really chunky metal sounds. The delay are pretty good, and the chorus is Ok. You don't get much in the way of modifying the modulation effects on the device itself, but I believe the software that you install on a computer gives you more flexibility. The only issue I have is that if you use the headphone output, the volume does not go super loud. I'm guessing they do that to protect your hearing. All in all, great amp for a great price.

I imagine that there are purists out there that might find fault with this amp, since it's not "old school" enough (no solid state, no tubes, no individual pedals, etc), but I'm very impressed by its sound quality, functionality, build, and value. First, it's simple to use, and to my ears, makes my guitar sound as big and mean as a junkyard dog or as well-behaved as a fox terrier with just a few taps of buttons and twirls of knobs. It's perfect for my bedroom, and I imagine, could work nicely in an intimate venue. I like having a single device that does it all: it's an amp and a multi-effects pedal that I can plug my iPad into and play along with whatever I'm listening to, and when I need to wear headphones, this amp processes the signal to give the audio presence like it's playing through speakers. It also suppresses noise, so if there's a slight line buzz from your instrument, you won't hear it. Lastly, it's built to last. Two weeks after I bought it, I jumped up to answer the phone, and tripped so hard on a cable that I bent the headphone mini jack to a 45 degree angle. But the amp was completely undamaged. I bought a new mini jack for my headphones and I was good to go. If you're a beginner, this amp is a no-brainer, as it's a great value that sounds great and does everything you need done to the output of your guitar, but I imagine that seasoned players will enjoy this amp as well.

unreal...2nd attempt at purchasing one of these...shipping damaged never delivered... than this time no power supply in the box and a surprise gift included... a BIG DEAD ROACH inside the bag on top the controls! Product is decent enough....if I can ever get one!

One of the best amps for this price range. The clean channel can sound as good as Roland Jazz Chorus amp. Great modern distortion options as well. I understand that Blackstar was started by ex Marshall employees; the experience in the useful design shows. I have not had such an excellent sounding compact stereo amp since my GK 250 ML (which I still own). The construction is decent for a low budget amp as well. I honestly think it will exceed your expectations.

I did some research before buying this amp and it seemed to be an affordable and good amp. It was very powerful, probably too powerful for its own good. I purchased it for the heavy distortion which sounded good but only when I had some headphones plugged into it or had the volume at a high level. It was pushing a lot of air through for its small size as well, I returned it because the only thing it really had going for it was the software which I have read it can brick the amp causing it not to turn on anymore if you download and update the software. Going to try peavey instead

L'ho preso per le sue caratteristiche e approfittando di un vistoso calo di prezzo. Dotato di effetti, accordatore e molte funzioni che ancora non ho sperimentato fino in fondo (collegamento col pc, sw in dotazione). L'unico piccolo difetto, se così si può chiamare, è l'alimentatorino esterno al case, che può essere poco pratico.

Pensé que se quedaría un poco corto de potencia para casa, pero no. Toco cerquita de él y no paso de medio volumen. Un sonido con bastante cuerpo y efectos suficientes para un prrincipiante, aunque no descarto una pedalera barata de efectos. Hace tiempo tuve un Marshall también de 20w y aunque era un buen ampli, este también lo es, recomendado. Conectarlo a un portátil y la entrada de audio para los backing tracks son un plus que ayuda mucho. Muy contento. Si en el futuro compro otro ampli más potente, probablemente está marca la valore mucho.

I have played guitar for 25 years and this is the most impressive home amp I have used. It sounds great and is the perfect Tone machine for any guitarist. Its easy to plug straight in and achieve great sounds out of the box. It is also compact and light. Not sure if it would stand up to a live gig volume wise, but can it can be connected or mic up to a PA system. Another great feature is the USB direct into you audio recording interface / pc so you can record your great tones without the need for microphones and leads etc. It gets 10 out of 10 from me. Perfect home / practice / recording amp for any level of guitarist.

Gute Sound-Qualität, nur Oberfläche könnte etwas robuster sein, aber ist ja halt nicht für Bühneneinsatz konstruiert. Was man auch am Stromversorgungs-Stecker merkt, etwas zu locker und manchmal habe ich Sorge, dass der Kontakt abknicken kann (siehe Foto)!

My husband loves the amp, unfortunately it came without the mains lead, luckily we had one.
