DAMO4" Black Diamond Buff Pad for Granite Polishing & Glazing/Final Buffing Pads

I experimented with this item. My application was for polishing glass tile to be installed in a shower/bathroom. Of note is the feedback provided by others that this disk leaves a brown streak residue. I could duplicate that result when the last grit I used was 3000. When I used 6000 or higher as the last grit, the brown streaking was not an issue. Moral of the story . . . if one leaves off with too coarse a grit, the pad itself will become a deposit in the pores of whatever one is working. I also tried to work the glass dry and wet. Definitely works better wet. I also tired buffing out scratches in glass. If the scratch is visible enough to justify its elimination, this buffing pad will not do the job. One will have to go back through the grits to eliminate the scratch and then proceed through the grits.If you are expecting a polish comparable to cerium oxide, you are going to be disappointed. Then again, cerium oxide is labor intensive compared to slapping a disk on a Velcro pad. If you run the pad and it heats up your work-piece, you may wish to slow down the rpm on the polisher. It is worth taking the time to find out what works best for you.

My final step of polishing or you may call it buffing. Make my granite countertop looks like a factory made one. It does has a glazed result which may prevent dull area caused by acid things such as vinegar.Just a small amount of water was needed to polish it to dry then repeat it for several times.

because I can't give it 0. I would have returned these but did want to waste the time... They will not give you a mirrored polished surface and are no better than the 3000 grit pads. Useless.
