This works great. I had to add 2" alluminum legs to my firepit to get the 6" clearance to the mat. Works great and did not burn the grass.

I hung this up on my deck railing behind my Pit Boss to make sure that any generated heat from the grill wouldn't melt or damage my deck railing. Simply hang by the grommets and make sure that you cover the top rail. Works like a charm.

If your looking for something g to protect your hot tent this is it. I bought 2 to double up. One worked so well I now have a spare I doubt I’ll ever need. Make sure the size is right and buy this one.

I run a heater in my tent during cooler evenings in the Spring and Fall. This has worked very well in protecting the floor of the tent. The heater doesn't really transfer that much heat from the bottom of the unit. But this mat adds a security blanket of sorts. It has a very heavy duty feel to it as well. I'm sure, as others have posted, that it can stand up to more than I have thrown at it. This is a great option for when heat protection is needed.

While it's not the most attractive thing in the world, this heavy-duty fire mat will protect your grass, and having a burnt section of grass for weeks is a lot uglier than enduring the reflective mat during the fire. We've been using our fire pit over grass and then on top of bricks over grass and the grass was always killed. This mat protected the grass under our pit the last time (though its blocking of the sun for a couple days ended up starving the grass and discolored it). A glowing ember even fell to the mat at one point and the mat handled it swimmingly.Although it's good at reflecting heat, it doesn't reflect water and it logged some water after it rained but I don't think that's an issue or will reduce its effectiveness going forward. I just need to hang it out to dry before storing.

This fits well under a 22" kettle-style grill, and gives enough room on the sides to allow you to place hot items such as a charcol chimney starter or the grill top. You may have to set the grill top on its side to place it fully on the mat.The mat itself is heavy duty, and had no visible markings when I set a hot chimney starter on top of it. It fully protected the area underneath the mat, and has withstood multiple heavy rainstorms. I will probably bring it in over the winter, but I suspect it would be fine based on the construction.The only downside is it is not lightweight, and if I was taking this camping this would be a heavy item to pack in and out.

The Semmiro 40" x 40" Square Fire Pit Mat was a perfect way to continue to use my old outdoor wood burner on our updated deck. My burner is only 24 inches in diameter, so the 40-inch square offered ample space to catch stray embers and even have a little space to hold extra wood. This would be great to bring along on a day trip for under a hibachi grill, especially since the mat comes with pegs to hold it down in case of wind. This ground cloth is exactly as advertised - it's big, sturdy, and heat resistant, while at the same time, light enough to pack up quickly.We use this for a low-smoke, aluminum, fire pit, and it worked just great - giving us some peace of mind in the dry areas around our vacation property.This blanket was also a very very valuable training tool for my young children and our pets. They knew not to go past the edge of the blanket, and therefore never ended up getting close enough to the fire pit to get themselves burned.
