This Step Bit Set has worked extremely well for my Jeep modifications project.Very sharp. Drilled through thin aluminum sheet metal, thin steel sheet metal, thicker vehicle body sheet metal, & thick and thin plastic materials smoothly and controlled. Need to drill a 5/8 inch hole in the wheel well to the engine bay to access hood release latch manually because of detached cable release. Step drill bit reduced the risk of damaging any nearby wiring harness. The drill bit drilled easily for no effort! Was worried it might jam or stall my drill. Cut through with no problem. Happy with the quality. I only needed the large bit but since the price was low, got the whole set with a nice metal case.

Thank you so much for not putting the bits into a cheap clear plastic tackle box thing like everyone else does. This case is thick enough it should at least last.

One thing missing from my toolbox was a set of step drill bits. I lost track of how many times over the years I've had to choose between "this size or the next bigger size" and either get a hole too small and "wiggle" the bit to get that extra little room, or making the hole too big and dealing with it.When I had to do a couple mods on an old truck (making holes to run some USB cables for a nice, hidden routing) I realized I needed a hole somewhere between what my bits could do and I remembered I bought these. They were perfect for getting the size just right for the rubber grommets. And of course I forgot about them when I did a couple other holes and used the old "wiggle" method... why'd I forget? It worked great for the other one. Oh well... I just need to break my habit of making do with my regular bits.Anyway, for my use case it worked great. They had no problems making my pilot hole wider in increments until I achieved the size I needed. I'd say my one complaint is that the size markers on the bits are hard for my eyes to see... they're small and it's kind of "dark on dark". But mostly I'm just spitballing the bit I need for my needs and then drilling to fit. If I have a need for a specific size I foresee getting out my magnifier to confirm.

I bought as I needed to drill a hole on my garage door frame. It was good and work line a charm. I don’t expect to use often.I think it is a good value compared to some big name brands from HD but I am not sure yet for a long term used.

I was having trouble drilling drip/drain holes in the bottom of a galvanized tub - got this drill bit and it cut through that tub (nearly) like butter. EXCELLENT PRODUCT - WORTH THE PRICE - 5 STARS!!
