4,5 stars for a great start to a new fantasy series
this is the first in what I believe will be a trilogy and a very good start :) straight from that first chapter we are thrown right into action and then we learn more about the world and all the rules from there :) fortunately, there’s no big info-dumpy pages that usually bore me to tears, but we uncover more knowledge at a very well timed pace that allows you to actually remember things you learn, and at the same time makes you curious to know more :) intriguing world with cool magic system and diverse cast of characters, this book was a fast read for me :) I loved both main characters and am looking forward to see how much more they will change… we saw some glimpses of that already, but I have a feeling a lot more is coming their way ;) also, there are some teasers of a slow burn romance, and I am always ready for that :) the writing style is great and flows effortlessly… if I hadn't known it was written by two authors, I would’ve never guessed that :) I can’t tell if they wrote it together, or if each person had their own fragments, it reads amazingly, and that is the best compliment I can always give for books if they are written by more than one person :) I laughed and cried, as well as gasp with surprise, and all in all was thoroughly entertained reading this book :) I am now eagerly waiting for the sequel to see where these authors will take this story next ;) I highly recommend you guys checking this beginning of a series

An Excellent Fantasy Series Starter
I must say I started reading this book with a healthy dose of skepticism. What books most people say are super great, I usually end up disliking. However, Death's Knight was a pleasant surprise. I loved the characters. I love the creativity of the book world. Overall, this was a joy to read and I didn't want to put it down. With minimal and appropriately placed rough language and no gratuitous or graphic sex nor violence, this also classified as a decent book for teens, in my opinion, far better than some YA material that's out there. So if you're looking for a good, solid fantasy series full of adventure and peopled with fascinating characters, give this one a try

Loved the journey
This book was awesome. The build up, the adventure and the characters made for an exciting reading experience. The writing was wonderful. Jena Ray has made a follower of me. I can't wait to read the next installment to find out how this adventure continues and ends. Again awesome read. I would recommend this read hands down.

Nice take on life and death in fantasy
Who would think that a priestess of life would work together with a death knight? In this refreshing view of a death knight (as the good guy, no less) teaming up with a life priestess, you get some wonderful contrasts on the roles they each fill as they learn more about each other and their purpose in the schemes of the gods. It's rare to see such a fun portrayal of family life in the brief downtime the characters have. Little kids climbing on their visiting relative, the death knight, was an image I didn't expect. It amused me.

Great read!
This was a fun read. A truly surprising take on the 'good guys'. Despite the light/dark switchup being unexpected, it really flowed with a natural dialogue and pace. I found myself completely understanding the characters' motives and rooting for them. This isn't my normal genre. But I was completely enchanted. I'm going to follow this author and look forward to the next book in this trilogy.

Excellent adventure in a unique world
I'm a sucker for a fantasy with a cool world that puts an interesting twist on expectations, and I get that in Death's Knight. In this world, the deity system revolves around life and death. However, the Goddess of Life and their priestesses became corrupted and turned into monsters, which leaves those who follow the God of Death to care for the spiritual needs of the world. And, there's some really cool magic that stems from each of these belief systems. All the win!Our two main characters, Darian and Ephema are delightfully awkward in all the right ways and I can't wait to see how their relationship grows as the series progresses.

Great book!
I've read everything from Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman to David Eddings, Brandon Sanderson, J.R.R. Tolkien, and MANY more and this is a great novel. I can't wait for book two!Set in a world where the gods have been overthrown and the night is a place of walking nightmares, a would-be Knight of the God of Death is rescued from certain death and corruption. His rescuer turns out to be an orphan who may hold a key to regaining the help of the lost Goddess of Life! Together, the two must find help to cross the lands and return with a key to save the world from the undead forces of the Lich!
