I was really worried about buying an accessory for my Surface 7 that wasn't Microsoft. This keyboard, however, is perfect.

I returned mine for a refund as the trackpad was problematic for me. The rectangular pad was near to the keyboard edge where my thumb naturally rested, and this seemed to interfere with the one and two finger pick-up sensitivity of the trackpad. So, windows would often collapse to reveal the desktop (a two-finger gesture) when I was moving a single finger around the screen. Also, the left and right buttons didn't respond all the time. Finally, the surface of the trackpad wasn't as sensitive as I would have liked, creating response issues. I replaced it with a Microsoft type cover which so far seems OK. Amazon returns went smoothly.

The keyboard is very good and has good led lights but the mouse is very whobly and frustrating it made my whole Microsoft surface frustrate me. Its just painful I was too late to return it

It's easy to use, nice handling, color adjustment is nice. But the mouse pad is horrible, sometimes I need to click three times that it reacts or it doesn't do anything, or wierd things.

I purchased this as the Keyboard port on my Surface Pro 4 had broken, so I needed a bluetooth alternative.The keyboard is good, not quite as 'clicky' as the the official keyboard and the Enter key is annoyingly small, but overall I like it.The trackpad is not good and a real pain to use after becoming used the official keyboard. It is nowhere near as responsive and there's often a small delay when you try and use it after a few seconds of not using it. The gestures for scrolling are nowhere near as smooth and mouse clicks frequently do not register.Most annoyingly, after giving up on the trackpad, I connected a bluetooth mouse to use instead but found that the keyboard somehow causes all other bluetooth devices to lag. The bluetooth mouse stutters but as soon the keyboard is disconnected, it becomes silky smooth again.I'd highly recommend sticking to the official keyboard if you can.

If you use a mouse you want to turn off the touchpad, this is easily achieved by pressing Fcn+spacebar, however, it never remembers your setting and constantly turns it back on, every time you switch the keyboard on, every time it has gone into standby. If i turn a feature off, I want it to stick and stay off, not keep turning back on, if this was sorted it would be a good product

The keyboard does not power direct from the surface but requires an extra cable to charge up the keyboard

The keybord works ok but touch-pad is crap. Every time you move your finger close to the edge of the touch-pad you acciedentaly move windows, minimize them, etc... Gestures should work with at least two fingers only!!!!!! I'd like to swith the gestures off, but this is not possible as the keybord got no software.
