After cutting myself a few times from dull knives I ordered Priority Chef Knife Sharpener. The Sharpener is lighter, in weight, than I expected but there is a handle you hold onto so it wasn't an issue. There are clear instructions to follow on how to sharpening your knives so I couldn't wait to try it. I first sharpened my chefs knife & paring knive, the 2 knives I use the most, and what a difference. They were like 'new' again! Then I sharpened the rest of my knives which took no more than 10 minutes and just had to cut up a cantaloupe, a couple of tomatoes & diced an onion I needed for dinner that night. I highly recommend PriorityChef Knife Sharpener. A fast & simple way to keep your knives sharp.

I do alot of cooking for my big family so having a good knife sharpener in the kitchen is a necessity for me. I Love having a good sturdy handle that I can grip onto while sharpening my knives. The PriorityChef Knife Sharpner meets all of the criteria I would expect from a good knife sharpner! It exceeded my expectations! I will purchase this again as needed in the future! I would highly recommend purchasing this!!

I don't like the residue it leaves behind on the sharpener itself.... The gray color comes off really fast where you're sharpening the knife.It takes longer than the 3-5 minutes they say to sharpen it.Easy to hold.Kinda annoying that you can only go one direction and that it's relatively difficult to keep it at the right angle when sharpening.I haven't noticed a difference that the polishing does.Anyway, I didn't think it really made a difference on one of the knives but after slicing a small part of the tip of my thumb off a couple of days ago with one of the knives rather, I'd say it works.3 stars because of the discoloration, length of time, scratch marks left, and the angling when running the blade through.

We bought this sharpener for one of our family members who has perpetually dull knives. They do have traditional knife sharpening equipment which we bought for them. However, it is probably inconvenient for them to use it. Hopefully, they will use this sharpener more often because it is very convenient and easy to use. It is also nearly foolproof (just pull the knife gently and lift. Don't push it back and forth.).We tested the sharpener on our knives - ours are premium German knives, and the sharpener works as advertised: it does a nice job tuning up the knife. Does it work better than a diamond steel and a conventional steel sharpening rod (also purchased here at Amazon) - no, but it does just as good a job, and it is lots less expensive. But, unfortunately, the Priority Chef sharpener lacks the drama of whipping the knife back and forth across the sharpening steel, and you'll never look like Chef Gordon Ramsay when you use the Priority Chef (sigh).Do we mind giving our family members a very slightly used Priority Chef sharpener: not in the least. We tested it under actual operating conditions.

For a quick sharping this tools works fine. It is my preferred way to sharpen my kitchen knives. I loved that it has a firm handle. The base is nicely built were it will not slip or slide. Three words; quick, easy, and with no hassle! There are 2 grits coarse and fine, which I'm not going to explain- pretty sure everyone knows to use. Also there is a guide on how to use the product that comes with the box.I'm quite abusive to my knives, always putting them to the test by chopping bones, mincing meat, washing them in the dishwasher and or let it air dry. I know- it dulls them faster but hey- it's modern day and I'd rather just finish up and hang out the my special someone. Did I mention, I've got to be impress when it can slice ginger paper thin? Pretty awesome!I also did a test where I sharpened my blades with a stone sharpener and then use this tool. I noticed that my blades stayed sharper longer.I received this product at a discounted rate.

It works only okay. You have to repeatedly sharpen your knife often because it gets dull again quickly. However, I do like that it’s easy to hold and use because it has a handle. I just hold it in one hand and slide the knife with the other hand. It doesn’t have to be sitting on the counter to use as long as you’re careful. I also like that it’s fairly small and fits in my kitchen drawer. I do wish the result would last a little longer and then it would be perfect.

Purchased this sharpener specifically for keeping our butchering knives sharp while we process deer this fall. We were fortunate enough to harvest four deer and due to the very warm weather we needed to butcher them right away. We use various knives to butcher the deer and we used to use a sander style sharpener to resharpen them during the process. This was quite time consuming and kind of interrupted the 'flow' we would have going. With this sharpener we were able to sharpen the knives very quickly and right at the tables we were working at. Like I stated before, we use various styles of knives and sharpener did them all quickly and put nice edge on them that seemed to last a long time. This sharpener definitely helped us finish up the deer very quickly. I have packed this away to use for next year. I am definitely planning on purchasing another one for the kitchen!!

I prefer a whetstone for serious knife sharpening, but for a quick and decent job on heavily-used kitchen knives, this sharpener works great.Nine months into ownership, I have to drop my rating from 5 stars to 3 at most. Although this device begins well, it wears out quickly. I've now abandoned mine and don't plan to buy another. While I own some whet stones that are 30 years old and still working as well as when they were new, this interesting but less-than-it-appears-at-first item will no longer sharpen even a knife that is already reasonably sharp.I would probably drop my rating to two stars, but it did work really well for the first few months (not heavy use, by the way).
